In the early '90s, while searching for tools to be more effective, I came across a self-management (as opposed to time management) system that I've used every day since. It is called ThinkTQ, where TQ is Time Quotient. The most important word in the entire system is CHOOSE. Choose THIS over THAT.

There is an entire system built around the mindset, including a set of 100 prompt cards, each with a Factor on it.

There are 10 major Areas (Energy, Mission, Attitude, Set Goals, Make Plans, Prioritize, Synergize, Organize, Optimize, and Act Now) and each area has ten Factors. I've set up my calendar and planning system to cycle through and put one Factor in front of me each morning. After 100 days it repeats. Over and over for the last 30+ years.
