Emory Plastic Surgery certainly had a strong showing at the 66th Annual Scientific Meeting, but we also made time to relax and unwind in Nassau!

A bittersweet send off for our outgoing chiefs, but the future of Emory is as bright as ever!

We had such an amazing time at the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons 66th Annual Meeting in the Bahamas! The schedule was full with residents presenting research, faculty on panels, and fun outings and events. Special highlights this year were winning the Resident Jeopardy Bowl 🥇, the conclusion of Dr. Losken’s SESPRS presidency 🤴, and our resident Dr. Ciara Brown winning the prestigious Glancy Cup! 🏆

Today, we celebrate our graduating chiefs.

Tyler Merceron continued the great Emory tradition of Jurkiewicz rounds, during which he presented his notable and complex chief cases from Grady. Great job, Tyler, and we’ll see you all tonight for graduation!

Congratulations to the Emory PRS Class of 2023! We look forward to celebrating you all this weekend at Graduation.

Dr. Marvin Arguello Angarita will be joining a private practice - Esthetical Surgery Center in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Dr. Tyler Merceron will be heading to University of Pennsylvania for a Microsurgery Fellowship.

Dr. Sam Payne will be starting his Hand Surgery Fellowship at Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center.

Dr. Chris Stewart will be starting his Orthopaedic Hand Surgery Fellowship at UCLA.

Thank you Dr. Braun Graham for sharing your experiences in private practice and your techniques for facelift and secondary breast surgery with us during grand rounds. Dr. Graham is the President-Elect of SESPRS and we appreciate him taking the time to visit as our last visiting professor of the academic year!
