Welcome to the official page for The Funky Debutante Interior Design Co. (Jenny Brockman, Owner/Principal Interior Designer, IDS).

I was destined to be an artist! My passion started in interior decorating. At the age of ten, my mother's friends would pay me to rearrange their furniture and accessories. I probably rearranged my childhood bedroom once a month. While other children wanted to play outside, I wanted to tour homes. After I graduated from a South Carolina high school in 1995, I attended Winthrop University as an Int

My name is Jenny Brockman and I am the creator and principal interior designer for The Funky Debutante Interior Design Co. I am passionate about creating beautiful and functional interiors. I began my courtship with the design industry over 25 years ago and started my first design business 22 years ago. At The Funky Debutante we understand that home is where the most intimate parts of life are experienced. It is where we can be the most authentic version of ourselves. Our home environment sets the tone for the day. It also provides a safe haven for us to retreat to in the evening. Therefore, it is worth any investment that allows us to mindfully curate and care for it. After all, it’s not just a house, it is where we live a significant portion of life. An elevated home is foundational to maintaining an elevated lifestyle. At The Funky Debutante, we specialize in helping our clients curate their lifestyle with intention by bringing a little mindful luxury to their homes.

MLK has always been an inspiration to me. I find myself connecting to his words with a deeper understanding in the midst of our current situation. In this moment in time, I ask God how I can be useful, loving, and brave. I want to be a place of love and safety for the marginalized. I want to do the right thing even when it’s scary. I want to recognize and step up when I encounter “the least of these” (Matthew 25:40). I want to be a place of grace as closed eyes open to the gravity of current events. Most importantly, I want to walk in the spirit of Love when it would be so easy to have a hardened heart. I don’t feel like social media is my platform for speaking too deeply about these things, but I am always on the side of love, empathy, and humanity. The words of Heather Cox Richardson are a beautiful tribute to Dr. King. I was encouraged reading her post today and I wanted to share (in link below) in the hopes that it provides a little encouragement to others that may need it, as well. I also encourage you to watch Dr. King’s full speech that is linked in the comments of Heather Cox Richardson’s Facebook post.

NYE
Candles Lit. Christmas Decor Packed Away. Fireplace Going. Relaxing Music Playing. Takeout Ordered. Ready for a quiet evening in with my hubby and our doggies. 2025 was A LOT (to put it mildly). Therefore, we are welcoming 2026 with intentional peace and positivity. We choose to hope that brighter days are ahead. May the gentle voices of love overpower the destructive voices of division in the New Year. May 2026 be the year that we all reset our priorities and reconnect with one another through grace, forgiveness, healing, humility, and love.
