Imagine ordering dinner and opening the door to a police officer carrying your food. 😂

That actually happened in Aberdeen, Scotland, after police seized illegal e-bikes while the riders were making deliveries.

During an operation across five evenings between August 17 and September 4, officers seized eleven illegal e-bikes. On two occasions, the bikes were stopped with customers’ meals still waiting to be delivered.

So members of the Community Action Team finished those deliveries themselves. Police said they wanted to make sure the customers didn’t go without their food.

The photo shared by Police Scotland shows an officer carrying a large Deliveroo bag—a pretty good explanation for anyone wondering why their dinner arrived with a badge.

There’s something wonderfully ordinary about that detail. In the middle of an enforcement operation, someone still thought about the people at home waiting to eat.

I’d probably spend the first few seconds trying to remember what I’d done wrong before noticing the delivery bag.

Throwback to 2024, when Missouri’s Crawford County Sheriff’s Office shared photos of a traffic stop involving this UFO-shaped car.

The travelers were heading to a UFO festival in Roswell, New Mexico, which is probably the least surprising destination anyone could have given while sitting inside that vehicle.

The sheriff’s office had some fun with the encounter. Its post described the occupants as friendly visitors who came in peace, then turned a conversation about out-of-state registration into an outer-space joke.

There was even a playful warning about “warp speed” on the interstate. That was the department’s punchline, not a claim that anyone had discovered interstellar travel.

My favorite part is the ordinary patrol car sitting behind it. One vehicle looks ready to leave the planet. The other is there to remind it that paperwork still exists.

The burglary call was real. The “cat burglar” was a little more literal than expected. 🐾

A resident in Kirkland, Washington, heard banging inside their home and called 911, believing someone might have broken in.

When officers arrived, they found a bobcat at the top of the stairs.

That is quite a change from the situation they were sent to investigate.

Police used a drone to keep track of the animal inside the house while maintaining their distance. They eventually contained it in a room until wildlife officers arrived to sedate and remove it.

The bobcat was later released near Forbes Creek. No injuries were reported, and the resident’s own cat was found unharmed.

Police believe the visitor may have climbed a tree and entered through an open window, possibly attracted by the pet cat.

Imagine reporting a suspicious noise upstairs and finding out your house has acquired a completely uninvited wildlife guest.

Definitely a job for someone other than the family cat.

The deer moved. The deputy moved faster. 😂

A late-night roadside check in Trinity County, Texas, gave one deputy a surprise he probably would have preferred without a camera recording.

He approached a deer he believed was dead. When the animal suddenly sprang up, he screamed and dashed toward his patrol vehicle.

Honestly, a motionless animal suddenly moving in the dark would catch plenty of us off guard. Watching from the comfort of your couch makes it much easier to act brave.

The deputy soon laughed about the scare himself. “Okay, we’re good,” he said after the unexpected encounter.

Sheriff Woody Wallace later confirmed that the deer was fine. According to the sheriff, the footage had already passed 10 million views when FOX reported on it on September 4.

That is a very large audience for one very understandable reaction.

Someone wore a Bigfoot costume around town, and the police ended up having to explain it. 😂

On September 1, police in Damariscotta, Maine, received an unusually high number of calls about a large, furry figure wandering through town.

There were sightings near a school and inside a grocery store. The outfit even came with a hat.

Officer William Smith eventually found the person sitting on Main Street. The explanation was simple: a man wearing a convincing costume.

They had a friendly conversation, with people stopping to take photographs. Police said they found no evidence of criminal activity.

The department leaned into the joke afterward, describing its work as a “lengthy, exhaustive, and completely serious investigation.”

Imagine being the officer who has to finish that call and explain that the Bigfoot situation has been handled.

A whole town got a story to tell, and one man learned just how convincing his outfit was.

There’s something funny about how seriously children take a job they’ve given themselves. The little notebook comes out, the questions start, and apparently being an actual police officer doesn’t get you out of answering them.

You can almost hear the next question: “Do you know how fast you were going?”

Meanwhile, the patrol car runs on a rechargeable battery and has to be home before dinner.

If you’ve ever played pretend with a child, you know the rules. They’re in charge, they can change those rules halfway through, and laughing during official business is probably another offense.

Playing along means accepting that your explanation might be rejected by someone who still needs help tying their shoes.

The only thing left to find out is whether the fine can be paid in snacks. 🍪
