Fayette Humane Society
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit all volunteer organization with a mission of spay & neuter.
The National Council on Pet Population Study and Policy’s most recent survey estimates that 64% of the total number of animals that enter shelters are euthanized. The FHS is dedicated to ending the needless suffering of unwanted pets through our aggressive spay and neuter program. In an effort to do our part to alleviate this pandemic, we offer discounted certificates for spay and neuter assistance to those who qualify and as funds permit. Prior to every adoption, we test, vaccinate, and spay or neuter all of our animals, or make arrangements to have them spayed or neutered, ensuring that they will not reproduce and add to this growing problem. Our ultimate goal is to find permanent loving homes for all of our rescued animals.

🚨ALERT!! Better Together! Adopt One Kitten, Get Their Buddy FREE‼️
Cheeto and Sadie are not siblings, but quickly became best kitty friends. I think Cheeto and Sadie complement each other very well. Cheeto is a striking, lean, orange tabby and a Sadie is a lush, soft, black mediumhair.
When I first got Cheeto, he was more reserved and I thought he was shy, but he has blossomed into a playful, loving, in your face kitty. He loves head scratches, and will do whatever it takes to get my hand on his head for some scratches. He is a biscuit making expert, Chef Cheeto. He really loves his person and always greets me and is so happy to see me. I really love Cheeto and how he makes me feel loved.
Sadie is a super sweet, dignified kitty. She is a little more reserved than Cheeto. She will wait her turn to get scratches, but when she sees her opening for scratches, she jumps right in. Sadie absolutely loves head scratches! And she is so soft and lush, she’s like petting a sable fur coat, so giving her scratches is a pleasure. Like Cheeto, Sadie loves her person and always is happy to see me and is a very people friendly kitty.
So, if you’re looking for a pair of sweet older kittens, Sadie and Cheeto are a great choice. They are great playmates, they complement each other and both are very social, friendly kitties.
Adoptions are every weekend at the Petsmart in Peachtree City, 12:00 to 3:45. If you’re unable to attend the weekend adoptions, you can come to my house, however, you need to fill out the adoption application ahead of time and be approved.
If you interested in adopting please fill out a Fayette Humane Society adoption application;

**FOSTERS NEEDED!!**
WE NEED FOSTER HOMES. DESPERATELY.
Fayette Humane Society is a foster-based rescue. We do not have a shelter or building where we can house dogs. Every dog we save needs a foster home — and right now, our foster homes are full.
Rescue is incredibly difficult right now. Surrenders are up, more dogs need help, puppies are being born, adoptions are down, and fewer people are stepping forward to foster. We receive rehome requests almost every day that we simply cannot accept because we have nowhere for the dogs to go.
Right now, we have THREE litters that need foster placement:
• One needs a foster home next week
• One will need placement in approximately 2–3 weeks
• One will need placement October 30
We also have multiple adult dogs needing foster homes, most of them medium to large-sized.
Could you foster?
Fostering means opening your home to a dog until they are adopted. Puppies may only need a foster home for around 4 weeks, while adult dogs may need 2–6 months depending on the dog and how quickly they find their forever family.
For puppies 6–9 weeks old, we ask that they be fostered in pairs whenever possible so they can learn appropriate communication and social skills.
We provide the support and resources you need. Foster families do need to be able to bring their foster dog to veterinary appointments at our Fayetteville clinic or technician appointments in Fayette County or Senoia, but we will work with you whenever possible.
You don’t have to be an experienced foster. You just need a safe place, the ability to care for a dog, and the willingness to give one a chance.
Please note: All foster families must meet our adoption requirements, as fostering can potentially lead to adoption if the dog turns out to be the right fit for your family.
The hard truth is that there are dogs we want to help right now that we cannot say yes to because we have nowhere to put them.
One new foster home can mean one more dog we can save.
If you can foster — puppy or adult, small or large — please reach out to Fayette Humane Society or submit a foster application.
And if you can’t foster, please share this post. The person who can help may be someone you know.
Right now, our biggest limitation isn’t the number of dogs who need us.
It’s the number of open homes.
If you can foster please apply here:
https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/FAY/Dog
**We supply all medical needs and supplies for the fosters!**

Prancer is a 2.5-year-old sweetheart with a playful personality and plenty of energy. She loves spending time with her people, whether that’s playing with toys, going for walks, or curling up for snuggles on the couch or bed.
She is potty trained, comfortable in a crate, and is currently learning how to use a dog door. Prancer is a quick learner who already knows how to sit and shake. She walks well on a leash, though she can still get a little excited and pull at times. Prancer loves chewing on dog toys, and she has not shown any interest in chewing on things around the house. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids.
When Prancer first arrived at her foster family’s house, she seemed a little unsure of her new surroundings, but she settled in quickly. Within a day or two, her playful and affectionate personality really started to shine. She is generally quiet and only tends to bark when someone comes to the door. Prancer would do best in a home that can give her plenty of love, attention, and opportunities to play. She is a sweet, happy girl who is ready to find a family to call her own.

Meet Cricket — sweet to her core and enough energy to recharge a battery. She needs lots of love and even more attention! She loves to play and enjoys the outdoors like it’s her home.
Gets along well with people and other animals - she’s a true social butterfly. So, if you already have another dog then this would be a good fit, she needs company so the more the merrier! Ideally, she needs to have a stay at home parent or someone that can be with her regularly, as she does have severe separation anxiety.
Cricket needs someone with a lot patience, love and that can provide her with good training. She’s still just a growing pup, so she’s in the process of learning now. Smart girl and is very capable of training, but like most pups she needs to get out her chewies and her zoomies!
She truly is a sweetheart and will lick you until you actually tell her to stop. Her playful nature is so fun to be around and she loves any kind of dog toy and chewing on her bones.
At the end of the day, she loves to curl up next to you, on you, or at your feet. As long as she is close by, she will be flexing that big joyful smile of hers!
Cricket is eight months old and probably a mixture of a few different breeds!

Meet Penny!
Penny is a happy, energetic little girl who is ready to leave her rough start behind and find a family of her own.
Penny and her siblings were abandoned together on a dirt road, so we don’t know their history or exactly what breeds they are. We believe they are around 8 months old. They were very small when they came to us and may have been malnourished for an extended period of time, but they are steadily gaining weight and making great progress.
Penny currently weighs about 22 pounds. We expect her to mature to around 30–35 pounds, although because her breed and history are unknown, she may ultimately stay smaller.
Penny is full of energy and loves to run, play, and have fun. She loves toys, treats, and other dogs, and she is good with kids. She is also a very smart girl who catches on quickly when she’s learning something new.
One thing Penny is still working on is her enthusiasm for people — she tends to jump when she gets excited. She’s learning that all four feet belong on the floor, and her intelligence should make her a quick study.
Penny does have a fairly high prey drive and wants to chase the cat whenever she sees him, so a home without cats would likely be the best fit for her.
She and her siblings have made great progress with house training, and she is continuing to learn and grow into the wonderful young dog she is meant to be.
If you’re looking for an active, playful, smart young dog who will keep you laughing and on your toes, Penny is ready to meet you!
