Surprisingly, even though William was raised in Georgia and grew up hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes, he was not a fan of Country music! Then during his freshman year of college at UGA, William was introduced to the rock driven country sound of Brantley Gilbert that opened his eyes, ears, and heart to Country music. With an old Silvertone guitar that once served as decoration in his childhood room, he quickly taught himself to play guitar by playing along to every song by Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, and of course Brantley Gilbert. Then after hearing his buddy’s story about serenading a girl by singing John Mayer to her, William quickly decided that he needed to teach himself to sing, too. The next summer, William found the nerve to sing for a girl he liked who convinced him to begin performing covers on YouTube and thus, William Finley’s ever-evolving career as a Country artist began. From acoustic-open mic nights to full live band shows from Georgia to Kentucky, William has continued to hone his craft and progress his music, sound, and abilities. This has led to the release of William Finley’s first EP “Taylor Swift Song” featuring William’s original songs such as the lead single “Forgetting You” and fan-favorite, “Taylor Swift Song” – available in all digital stores including Spotify and iTunes.
