Southeastern business law firm Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein recently hosted a workshop at its Charlotte office for roughly 75 in-house legal leaders and business executives, where they built AI assistants alongside Parker Poe attorneys.

"We just thought that if we get together with our clients in a real working session, ... both for the clients and for us, it begins to give us a better understanding of how to work together as AI becomes part of how we practice law," said Russell Killen, a partner at Parker Poe who heads the firm's technology committee.

Attendees included Zachary Porfiris, head of legal at music distribution and technology company Symphonic Distribution, who spoke with reporter Benjamin Joyner about the collaborative event.

For its new Atlanta office, Saul Ewing has hired partners from Squire Patton Boggs, Holland & Knight and Arnall Golden Gregory.

“For us, it’s a client-driven expansion,” Steven Reingold, who will serve as managing partner of the Atlanta office, told reporter Jon Campisi.

In addition to Reingold, the other attorneys who will be resident in the new Atlanta office are Scott Rafshoon, Peter Hall, Rebecca Davis and Patrick Tracey.
