Kinda chic is being hydrated, healthy, productive, and having that one tumbler you bring literally everywhere. ✨

Tart cherry juice = natural melatonin + tryptophan.
Magnesium = your nervous system's chill pill.
Together? basically a bedtime cocktail for your hormones.

Sip slow from dinner onward β€” small sips > big gulps, so you're not up at 2am for a bathroom break instead of your alarm.

More than half of kids arrive at school already dehydrated.
Most parents never connect it to the afternoon crankiness, the focus issues, the after-school collapse.

This week I'm sharing everything. What the research says, what actually works, and four drinks kids genuinely ask for.

Water is enough for most school days. But after an hour of real sport in summer heat, it isn't.
Do your kids do after-school sports? Which sport? πŸ‘‡

The after-school treat that's secretly 92% water.

WATERMELON SLUSHIE SPLASH
300g frozen watermelon chunks β€” freeze fresh watermelon the night before
Squeeze of lime
Splash of cold water β€” just enough to blend
Blend until thick and smooth. Pour into a tall glass. Straw in. First sip. Film the reaction.

Watermelon is 92% water. This is genuinely one of the most hydrating things your kid can drink. And they'll ask for it every dayπŸ˜‰

if you only fix one habit this week, start with this:

Three things. That's the whole school-day hydration system.

1. The bottle they choose β€” let them pick. Kids drink from bottles that feel like theirs.
2. Filled + cold the night before β€” a morning-of empty bottle stays empty.
3. One flavoured drink after school/sports β€” this is when they're most depleted. Make it count.

Skip: juice boxes as the daily default. Trains taste buds to expect sweet, skip water.

The trick every parent should know: kids who make the drink, drink the drink.

STRAWBERRY LEMONADE MAKE IT YOURSELF
6 ripe strawberries β€” their job: muddle them (acceptable mess level: high)
Juice of 2 lemons β€” vitamin C
1–2 tsp honey β€” far less sugar than any juice box
1L cold filtered water + ice

Kids muddle the strawberries. Add lemon juice, honey, water. Stir, taste, adjust. Pour over ice.
Then let them name it. Named drinks get requested again.

What drink trick actually works with your kids? πŸ‘‡

My son walked in from football training and went straight for the biscuit cupboard.
He wasn't hungry, he was dehydrated and his body was looking for any quick energy they could find. So, I made this instead.

ORANGE CREAM RECOVERY COOLER
500ml coconut water β€” potassium + magnesium
Juice of 2 oranges β€” vitamin C + more potassium (kids love squeezing these)
300ml cold filtered water
Tiny pinch of sea salt β€” replaces sodium lost through sweat; you won't taste it
Drop of vanilla extract β€” this is the creamsicle

Combine, shake or stir, serve cold. Ideally waiting on the counter when they walk in.

What's the drink trick that works with your kids? πŸ‘‡

More than half of kids show up to school dehydrated and it doesn't look like thirst.
It looks like:
Β· Zoning out in class
Β· 3pm meltdowns
Β· The "I'm SO tired" collapse
Β· Nearly 3x the odds of focus issues

Sporty kids? Even worse. 81% of studies on young athletes show dehydration.
One summer practice = a real electrolyte event for a small body. πŸ’§

The fix: a bottle they actually love + 1 flavoured drink post-activity + juice as a treat, not a default.

What's your kid's hydration trick? πŸ“πŸ‘‡
