Life has been so busy, I almost forget to share this adorable photo of Apollo, as he intently watched the Fun Dog Show we sponsored to help raise funds for the Carroll County Humane Society, supporting their mission to provide food for dogs in families facing hardship. 🐾❤️ if you’d like to donate especially with the holidays approaching, visit https://www.carrollcountyhumane.org/

I enjoyed getting in the patriotic spirit celebrating 249 years of America with the congregation at Roopville Road Baptist Church during their special Patriotic Service. It was a powerful message from Barry Loudermilk, and I’m looking forward to diving into his book this weekend! 🇺🇸 Happy 4th everyone!!

I loved reading The Big Umbrella at the Villa Rica Library’s Summer Reading Program! The kids were adorable, and I’m appreciative to Director Rachel Linn for the invite. It gave me and Apollo a chance to meet families and share how I and Carroll County can support them.

What an honor it was to present this proclamation to Ms. Imogene Frazier on her 100th birthday! Born in Whitesburg in 1925, she’s lived through a century of change with grace, grit, and plenty of good humor.
She still drives, still shines, and is truly a role model to us all. If I can be anything like Ms. Imogene when I grow up… I’ll be doing alright!
Happy Imogene Frazier Day in Carroll County, you’ve earned it a hundred times over!

The fun continues with Read Across America Day at Mt. Zion Elementary! Apollo and I had the best time reading with students, sharing stories, and celebrating the joy of books. Seeing their excitement reminds me why fostering a love of reading is so important. Thank you, Mt. Zion Elementary and carrollcountyschools, for having us! Let’s keep inspiring young readers!

Happy Drop Everything and Read Day! 📚
Apollo and I are proud to support Carrollton City Schools 5th annual Read Across America event, highlighting the importance of literacy in our schools and community. Reading has the power to spark imagination, build connections, and inspire lifelong learning.
We love the story, “Go, Dog. Go!” by P.D. Eastman, and when we read it we have to add confetti, lots of laughter, and of course wagging tails.
What book did you drop everything to read today? Let’s keep sharing the joy of reading! 📚🐾
