We hit the jackpot with our 2025–2026 leadership team! 🎰 With elections in just under 2 months, here are their main accomplishments so far:

President: Mukilan Karthikeyan — established industrial partnerships, strengthened RJ-SCC relationships, launched brand initiatives, a web development initiative, streamlined sponsorship, built a long-term development plan for the organization, and supported local VEX through volunteering and mentoring.

Vice President: Zane Pressley — supported Ri3D and high school competition goals, and standardized processes to launch new campus competitions this spring for BattleBots, RoboCup, RoboWrestling.

Treasurer: Brooklyn Heath — built infrastructure for long-term financial stability and led sponsorship fundraising efforts, raising tens of thousands this fall semester.

PR Chair: Angelina Rodriguez — built infrastructure for increased social media and large-scale livestreams, expanded merchandise, supported sponsorship fulfillment, and increased recruitment of women within the Georgia Tech community.

Shop Manager: Aaron Qu — improved shop quality, organization, and space, with efforts including a major renovation and organized cleanings.

Secretary: Zaid Hashmi — standardized room reservations, reduced conflicts, improved staff communication, and created a future onboarding guide to ensure ease of leadership transitions.

Outreach Chair: Ian Lamont — brought Ri3D under the RoboJackets umbrella and helped facilitate the success of the 72-hour event, and expanded our outreach impact across Georgia robotics.

We’d like to thank our sponsor, Kenesto, for their continued support of RoboNav! Our team relies on Kenesto’s cloud-based PDM platform to manage and collaborate on our SolidWorks designs for our Mars-style rover and drone. Since adopting Kenesto, we’ve streamlined version control, improved design transparency, and accelerated iteration across our mechanical subsystems. Their integration has been vital in helping us qualify for the University Rover Challenge finals and continue pushing the boundaries of student-driven space robotics.

From May 28–31, 2025, our RoboNav team proudly represented Georgia Tech at the University Rover Challenge (URC) Finals, hosted by The Mars Society at the Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) near Hanksville, Utah. URC is the world’s premier robotics competition for college students, challenging teams to design and build the next generation of Mars-style rovers and drones for remote operation—preparing them to assist astronauts in the field and contribute to future missions like Artemis and beyond.

After a year of hard work, RoboNav was selected as one of 38 finalist teams from a record-breaking 114 applicants across 15 countries, following a competitive System Acceptance Review. Sixteen of our team members traveled to the Utah desert to put our rover to the test in four demanding missions.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, innovation, and teamwork that brought us to the URC finals. Thank you to all of our dedicated team members and to our generous sponsors who helped make this season possible.

We had a blast and are already hard at work designing our next rover for the 2026 competition. Stay tuned and Go Jackets!

We’d like to thank an amazing sponsor of ours, Kenesto ! Our RoboNav team uses Kenesto, a cloud-based file management system, to manage the CAD and other related files to their main rover. It was an immense help and allowed them to compete this past summer. With Kenesto, they were able to qualify for the international URC competition! It wouldn’t have been possible without Kenesto, and we’re grateful for our continued partnership. This past Saturday, BattleBots and RoboWrestling both held in-house competitions for robots that have been worked on this past year!

BattleBots held a single elimination tournament with eight of their 3lb robots, and RoboWrestling held a double elimination tournament with eight of their 500 g robots.

Congratulations to John F. Kennedi and Franki for winning the BattleBots and RoboWrestling tournaments, and good work to all of the teams who competed and worked so hard this year!
