Everybody wants to grow... but what happens when growth actually requires you to spend money, take a risk, meet new people, or step outside your comfort zone?
In this episode, Cody and JB discuss the mindset that can keep creators stuck even when opportunities are right in front of them.
We break down when it makes sense to take a small risk, why investing in yourself is part of building a business, the difference between free and paid communities, and how collaboration can open doors you couldn't create alone.
This isn't about blindly spending money on every opportunity. It's about learning how to evaluate opportunities instead of automatically finding a reason to say no.
For creators trying to build a real career or business, sometimes the investment isn't just money.. it's your time, energy, effort, relationships, and willingness to take action.

Being able to shoot, edit, sell, and deliver everything yourself might get you started... but eventually, you become the bottleneck.
In this episode, Cody and JB break down how media creators can transition from doing all the work themselves to building the systems, team, and relationships needed to scale.
We discuss outsourcing, finding and vetting creators, pricing jobs with enough margin to hire help, sharing opportunities, managing talent, and why collaboration can create more opportunities instead of taking them away.
We also break down how Creator Collective's Opportunity Tab, invoicing, portfolios, and community can support creators who want to hire, collaborate, and build beyond themselves.
If you're a videographer, photographer, editor, or creative entrepreneur who feels like everything in your business depends on you, this episode is for you.

Real partnerships take real work. 🤝
A partnership where you never talk, never get on calls, and never meet up isn’t a partnership. And when you do meet, if the conversation has nothing to do with success, nothing is going to move.
We have to find the disconnect and fix it. Stop just talking about things and start taking action on the things we said we would do. Look at the people at the top. Kevin Hart knew this person, that person, before any of them made it. Those stories are starting to die because creators treat each other like competition instead of building together.
Your next level might be sitting in a partnership you are not fully showing up for.
Comment “PARTNER” if you are ready to actually build with people instead of competing with them.👇 Follow for more real talk on the creative business.

Is $500 too cheap for a video?
The answer isn’t as simple as yes or no.

In this episode, Cody and JB break down how creators should think about pricing video production, what should actually be included in your price, and why two videos that look similar can have completely different budgets.
We discuss equipment costs, crew size, multiple deliverables, client expectations, experience, negotiation, and why learning how to sell your value is just as important as learning how to create great work.
We also get into why starting with a higher price can give you room to negotiate, when being flexible makes sense, and how pricing can help build long-term client relationships.
If you're a videographer, photographer, freelancer, or creative trying to get better at pricing and selling your services, this episode is for you.

In this episode, Cody and JB break down some of the biggest decisions creators face when trying to turn their skills into a real business.

We also get into niching down, outsourcing editing and production, balancing creativity with business, and building a brand around more than just the work you produce.
If you're a videographer, photographer, editor, freelancer, or creative entrepreneur trying to grow beyond doing everything yourself, this conversation is for you.

How do you go from accidentally becoming a photographer to owning multiple studios and teaching other creators how to do the same?
In this episode of the Creator Collective Podcast, Cody and JB sit down with Jeanphilippe Etienne to break down the business behind photography studios.
Jeanphilippe shares how he got into photography by accident, what pushed him toward studio ownership, and how he eventually expanded into multiple locations. More importantly, we get into the numbers, systems, automation, memberships, and business decisions that can turn a creative space into an actual business.
We talk about starting a photography studio with minimal investment, finding affordable locations, keeping overhead low, generating multiple streams of income, using platforms like PeerSpace, building recurring revenue through memberships, and avoiding common studio-owner mistakes.
One of the biggest lessons from this conversation: being talented at photography and knowing how to run a photography business are two different skills.
Whether you're thinking about opening your first studio, already own one, or simply want to make more money with your creative skills, this episode is packed with practical insight.
In this episode: Jeanphilippe’s journey from accidental photographer to studio owner • Starting a studio on a budget • Scaling to multiple locations • Studio systems & automation • PeerSpace and studio rentals • Memberships & recurring revenue • Multiple income streams • Studio management mistakes • Photography vs. business skills • Teaching & mentorship

What makes Creator Collective different? 🎬
Most platforms just help you find the next gig. We help you build an actual career. A real home base to scale from, not just another one off job to chase.
When we started, we didn’t have that. We got lucky attaching to an agency, but not everyone does. So we built the thing we wish we had, so creators can grow a business instead of jumping from gig to gig.
That is the difference. That is why we do this.

Working with friends can be powerful… but friendship doesn’t automatically make a good business partnership.
Before you build together, make sure the commitment, work ethic, and goals actually match.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is drop the ego, meet new people, collaborate, and build with those who are just as serious as you. 🎥
