🚀Expanding Care Across Alaska

We are thrilled to launch Project ANCHOR (Aging & Neurodivergent Care through Health, Outreach, and Remote Support)!

Through funding from the Alaska Rural Health Transformation Program, MapHabit is partnering with local organizations and Vivo to deliver personalized, evidence-based care directly into homes and communities across Alaska.

Project ANCHOR brings together: 🧠 MapHabit’s AI-powered visual routines for individuals with neurodivergent needs, TBI, or dementia. 💪 Vivo’s virtual strength programming designed for adults 55+.

Our goal is simple: support families, strengthen the local workforce, and foster health equity in rural and remote communities.

Thank you to our dedicated partners across Alaska who make this work possible!

The Rural Health Transformation Program creates a major opportunity for states and local partners to rethink how care reaches people outside traditional facilities.

The strongest investments will not simply add technology. They will make support easier to access, easier to use, and easier to measure—especially for people managing cognitive or developmental challenges at home.

On the journey to increased independence, not every win corresponds with a splashy milestone.

Sometimes, it’s remembering the next step without help, starting a task with a little more confidence, or getting through part of the day with less stress.

These small moments may not always be visible to others, but they add up in a big way over time.

Whether you’re supporting someone or working toward more independence yourself, progress often looks like consistency, not perfection. Don't forget to reward yourself for the little things!

MapHabit and LuMind Assistive Technology Study For Children With Down Syndrome 07/08/2026

Research plays an important role in how we continue to learn, improve, and better support the individuals and communities we serve.

Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to contribute to research focused on individuals with Down syndrome (among other populations), exploring how structured support and daily routines can impact independence and quality of life.

It’s one example of how we think about building tools that are grounded in evidence and making a real impact for individuals.

If you’re interested in learning more, you can explore the research here:

MapHabit and LuMind Assistive Technology Study For Children With Down Syndrome Feasibility study shows assistive technology can improve independence, quality of life, and adaptive behavioral skills.

Summer often brings a shift in routine, which can be both exciting and challenging ☀️

For many families, having simple, consistent habits in place can make a big difference in keeping days structured while still allowing for flexibility. Things like making the bed, choosing meals, or getting ready for the day can help create a sense of independence and confidence, even when schedules change.

In this video from one of our users, mom Krista shares how her son uses MapHabit as part of his daily routine to support those small but meaningful moments.

One of the biggest challenges we heard from caregivers, clinicians, and educators wasn't understanding what to include in a support map. It’s finding the time and effort it takes to build one from scratch.

This concern is what led us to develop Map Builder (driven by AI).

By helping users start with a draft instead of a blank page, Map Builder reduces the work required to create a map while preserving the thought and personalization behind it.

Empowering Independence in Rural Communities: The Role of MapHabit in Health Innovation 06/23/2026

Access to care isn’t always about awareness. Sometimes, it’s about geography.

In rural communities, barriers like limited providers, long travel distances, and fewer support resources can make it significantly harder for individuals and caregivers to access consistent care. These gaps don’t just impact health outcomes, they shape daily routines, independence, and quality of life.

We explored this more deeply in our blog post about empowering independence in rural communities. If you haven't had a chance to read it, check it out here:
