🤝Making Friends in College: A Summer Program for AU Students

Are you a prospective or current Auburn University* student who has always struggled to make friends in school? Then my upcoming hybrid summer program is for you!

College is hard enough with the stress of schoolwork, tests, lack of sleep, and everything else that comes with college life, but it’s even harder doing it alone with no community.

I want to help you change that by connecting you with other students who experience similar social and relational struggles.

This summer, I'm launching a 3-day program where you'll learn the practical social and relational skills needed to make friendships work, socialize with other participants (virtually and in-person), and form friendships before the fall 2026 semester starts.

Here's what you'll walk away with:

✅Some practical social and relational skills that can be used everywhere
✅️Confidence-building strategies for speaking up in the classroom and participating in group assignments
✅Valuable relationships and connections that make college way less stressful, less lonely, and more enjoyable

Imagine the next time you walk into a room - a meeting at work, a wedding reception, or any kind of social setting/event - you don't shrink in fear and nervousness:

You can ask a question and share your ideas with your coworkers - without being shy.

You can look someone new in the eye and say, "Hi! It's nice to meet you!"

And most of all, you can finally stop overthinking every little awkward moment.

That’s exactly what I help people like you do in my private coaching - without having to act extroverted or be socially perfect.

Can you relate to feeling like you don't fit in anywhere, no matter how hard you try?

You walk into rooms telling yourself, "I don't belong here, and everyone can see it."

The conversations you try to start aren't working as well as you want them to work.

The friendships and relationships you start to form end up fizzling out.

Why does this always happen? You don't really know, but you wish it could change.

The good news is that it *can* change with the right mindset, environment, and people.

You don't have to feel like a social outcast for the rest of your life. It's not about trying to make everyone like you or be your friend - it's about having the self-confidence to know that your kind of people are out there, and having the social confidence to put yourself out there so you can find your people (and be found by them).

🎓Making Friends in College: A Hybrid Summer Program for AU Students🎓

I'm an Auburn University Graduate Class of '21. My time at Auburn University was amazing, especially my years spent in the AU Marching Band.

I navigated my 4-year degree on AU’s campus pretty well — I got reasonable grades, graduated on time, and stayed out of trouble, but it was a very lonely experience for one reason: I couldn’t seem to make or keep friends. In fact, socializing and building relationships were things I struggled a lot with during all of my schooling years.

The reason for my struggles was something called Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 1, something I was diagnosed with in my late teens before I started college. Because of my social difficulties and differences, I struggled to connect with my peers and make friends. This caused me to have major social anxiety for many years, even in early adulthood.

My specific experience navigating a large, overwhelming college campus like AU is the reason I created my summer program, Making Friends in College: For AU students with social fears, differences, and difficulties. Whether you're shy, awkward, Autistic with low support needs, or just need help building a social network before the fall 2026 semester starts, this program is for you!

Here's what you'll walk away with:

✅Some practical social and relational skills that can be used everywhere
✅️Confidence-building strategies for speaking up and participating in a classroom setting
✅Valuable relationships and connections that make college way less stressful, less lonely, and more enjoyable

✈️Navigating Airports Can Be Overwhelming and Nerve-Wracking!

Let's be honest: Airports are overwhelming and inconvenient in general, but navigating them can be even more difficult when you experience social challenges like shyness, social anxiety, or symptoms of having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

🔊The loud, noisy, busy environment that make your head spin.

👥The large number of people, some of whom are not very friendly.

🧳The long TSA lines and the pushy agents.

Trying to handle all of that while fighting the inward battle of social fear and discomfort used to be a lot for me to handle when I still experienced social anxiety many years ago. I was fine when travelling with my family because they could do most of the talking and asking questions, but learning to do it by myself was another battle.

💪Now that I'm past the fear of socializing, I don't have many problems flying alone: I can ask questions when I need help, I don't get bent out of shape when someone is rude to me, and I can speak up to tell the flight attendant which drink and snack I want without feeling nervous.

If you’re currently living with nervousness around socializing for whatever reason — whether you’re on the spectrum or not — I want you to know it can get better.

You don’t have to live in a constant state of fear and seclusion for the rest of your life. You can build social confidence in a way that works for you, so that navigating daily life doesn't feel like a war zone.

My personal story is exactly why I offer 1-on-1 coaching to people just like you, who find socializing to be nerve-racking, overwhelming, and tricky, because I know mental hurdles like this are best overcome with support and guidance from someone who’s been there before.
