🥓🥞 Swipe to see some behind-the-scenes shots of the process for the Flying Biscuits jersey design, which went through quite a few iterations.
 The idea originated for a way to play off of the hockey slang for puck = “biscuit”. We ended up getting a sponsorship in the form of an actual franchise of The Flying Biscuit restaurant based in Peachtree Corners, making the project even more rewarding in the end!

VERSION 1.1
Basically just a simple sketch to see how the purple, yellow, and orange would look together. The ideas of having a winged biscuit streaking across the front of the jersey + an asymmetrical design on the sleeves both ended up making the final cut.

VERSION 3.2
You can see an overall elevation of the original idea here. Still, a few elements remain in the same places, including orange on the right sleeve and yellow across the chest. The logo package has also been refined, and the custom font was one of the few iterations with a slanted, speedy feel.

VERSION 4.3
The fourth version ended up taking a major step back to the drawing board, ultimately landing on a more vibrant striping pattern. The “blocked gradient” incorporates multiple shades of orange, yellow, and purple— putting this motif on top of a black base instead of dark purple allows the elements to really come to life. The asymmetrical design stays, but this time it’s inspired by the iconic Thrashers look to further connect to the city.
