𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗱. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝟴(𝗮) 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀.
Two moves out of Washington this week:
1. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗕𝗔 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻-𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀. Firms are receiving a survey plus a request for three years of personal and business tax returns, with responses due by June 30. Miss that window, or fall short of the economic disadvantage standard, and your firm can be proposed for decertification. This is the same playbook that already produced more than 1,100 suspensions and over 150 terminations in the 8(a) program.
2. 𝗔 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟭 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲. Individually owned firms would need to prove disadvantage with specific, fact-based evidence. Public comments are open through July 13.
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆. The advantage that came with a socio-economic designation is narrowing. Some of it is being audited. Some of it is being rewritten.
So ask yourself one question: 𝘪𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘵-𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘥𝘪𝘴𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘳𝘰𝘸, 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘮 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘸𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬?
𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰. It is a reason to get ready. The firms that come out ahead will compete on capability, past performance, pricing, compliance, and proposals that actually score. The certification opens the door. Readiness keeps you in the room.

Most small businesses 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 opportunities.
The ones that win 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 pipelines.
There is a real difference.
Chasing is reactive, exhausting, based on hope. Pipeline is layered, predictable, based on data.
This 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝟲:𝟯𝟬 𝗣𝗠 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻, we build pipeline.
Tangible Thursdays Week 3: Triangulate. Identify. Launch.
We use real federal spending data on USASpending.gov to triangulate target agencies and teaming partners across your NAICS code. We use LinkedIn ethical stalking (public information only) to identify named decision makers at every target. We load a 5-email drip campaign into the C3PI SaaS environment, live, ready to send tomorrow morning.
You walk out with three real deliverables:
→ 𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁 (𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗺𝗶𝗱, 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲)
→ 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗽
→ 𝟱-𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗹𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲

When you ask people what's 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
𝟴𝟯 leaders. 𝟭𝟵 cities. One hour together...
Here's what they said is actually inhibiting their growth:
Capital. Past performance. Corporate buyer access. Viable leads. Reliable staff. Connections.
This isn't theory or what we "think". This is what the room said.
Then we asked what they want next. 𝟴𝟯% said 𝗕𝗢𝗧𝗛 government 𝗔𝗡𝗗 corporate contracting opportunities. Not one path. Both.
Hey , this is what Week 1 of Tangible Thursdays delivered for your Capital Readiness Program members. And we're just getting started.
The next 12 weeks were built for exactly what this room told us.
Tomorrow, May 28 at 6:30 PM Eastern: Week 2, Reading the Roadmap. Cazzie is leading us through how to translate your readiness score into specific moves for GovCon and CorpCon.
Two important next steps and ways to plug in:

7 weeks ago I returned to argumentative paper writing for the first time in over two decades...
Over the weekend, I turned in the final paper for GRC 600: Doctoral Academic Study and Writing, and I am walking away with a sharper research voice and a reminder that continuous development is a discipline, not a slogan.
The paper argued that the replacement of in-person workplace interaction with digital communication tools has measurably intensified employee loneliness and degraded organizational performance, and that leaders who invest in relational practices can reverse those effects. The research drew on 16 scholarly sources and forced me to defend a position with evidence rather than experience alone. That kind of academic rigor stretches every assumption you walk in with, and it is exactly what doctoral work demands.
Next up is MGT 616: Organizational Change and Development in Management. The transition could not be more fitting. The argument I closed GRC 600 with, that workplaces require continuous relational stewardship rather than one-time fixes, is the exact territory MGT 616 will press on. I am already drafting my first paper for that course on the human dimensions of algorithmic change inside federal agencies.
To anyone in the middle of advanced study, here is what I am taking with me: show up for the work, even when it humbles you...
The discipline pays off.
Cheers,
O

Quick word before Q4 hits.
The federal government's biggest spending quarter is almost here. Three hundred billion on the table. Hundreds of new contracts. The companies that are ready right now will catch the wave. The companies that aren't will watch it pass.
Which one is yours.
We've built Tangible Thursdays with C3PI for the second group. Twelve weeks. Twelve live build sessions. Free.
Here's what makes this different from every other webinar you've sat through. Every Thursday ends with the actual work done. A capability statement, built live. A compliance matrix, generated in front of you. A pricing model, exported to Excel. A pipeline loaded into a working CRM. Not slides. Not concepts. The actual asset, in your hands, before the session ends.
Take it home Thursday. Use it Friday.
Miss these twelve sessions and you miss the window. May 21st through August 2026.
Free for NMSDC Capital Readiness members.

Yesterday at the 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, I challenged a room full of future Emmy winners to stop settling for mediocrity and start building a life of 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚...
What you do between 18 and 40 will define the rest of your life. That was the message I delivered yesterday from the stage of the Academy Awards, and it is the message I want every young creator, dreamer, and doer to hear right now.
In this clip, I take high school and college students on a real journey, one built on courage, personal growth, and the truth most people are too afraid to say out loud.
Mediocrity is a 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲. Purpose is a 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗰𝗲. The window you are standing in right now is sacred, and the decisions you make inside of it will echo across every chapter of your life that follows.
This is for every student or young adult who is tired of playing small. This is for every young leader who is ready to stop waiting for permission.
Tune in, take notes, share it with someone who needs to hear it, and let us ignite that spark together.
The next generation of Emmy winners, founders, and changemakers is watching. 𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰.

It is a genuine honor to share that I have been selected as a presenter at the upcoming 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗔𝗦 𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 on Saturday, May 2, 2026.
To the Executive Board and Board of Governors of NATAS PSW, thank you for the trust, the consideration, and the opportunity to stand alongside such a distinguished lineup of fellow presenters. Being included in a moment of this caliber is humbling, and I am grateful.
Here is why this night matters. NATAS Pacific Southwest is the very same chapter of the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗺𝗺𝘆® 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱. The students we will celebrate that evening are the next generation of storytellers, journalists, producers, directors, and craft professionals who will shape the future of the entertainment and production industries. Many of them, in just a few short years, will be standing on the Emmy stage themselves, and it is an honor to be present at the very beginning of that journey.
Showing up for emerging talent is not optional, 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘢𝘭. When seasoned professionals invest their time and presence in young creators, careers are launched, confidence is built, and entire industries are strengthened. That is exactly the spirit my fellow presenters and I are bringing on May 2.
To every student nominee, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘦𝘦𝘯, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘷𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵. 𝘚𝘦𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘨𝘦.
