✨ THE BRAIN CHANGES THROUGH EXPERIENCE ✨

I used to believe insight was required for healing. I don’t anymore. I was shown otherwise — both personally and professionally. That being said… I still appreciate some good insight 😊

Here’s the shift: safety signaling comes from experience, not just new understanding.

I was revisiting the work of Virginia Satir recently and something clicked. She spoke about chaos not as something to avoid, but as a necessary part of change. Even more — as evidence that something new is already forming.

And when I look at anxiety through a quantum health lens, I see this everywhere. The body is constantly updating its internal model of the world — not just through thoughts, but through signals (frequencies). Each one provides new biological data.

▪️ aligned circadian light
▪️ nourishing minerals
▪️ real, grounding food
▪️ heart-brain coherence

When the body consistently receives these inputs, the brain and body begin predicting safety instead of threat.

So what if the discomfort, the tension, even the anxiety — isn’t a problem to solve, but your system already moving toward something new?

The brain doesn’t update through understanding alone. It needs new input. Maybe start with one signal today — light, water, earth, food, or breath. Give your body a little more safety with which to work. 🤍

My Anxiety Recovery Toolkit is linked in bio if you want a gentle place to begin.

Our very own, Angela Robinson, has written another anxiety book—and this one’s full of BUGS. 😱

🪳Growing up in Columbus, Georgia, Angela was absolutely terrified of roaches. And not the ordinary kind—these were giant, flying, armor-plated monsters that lived near the Chattahoochee River and laughed in the face of hairspray. (Spoiler: Aqua Net doesn’t kill them. It just makes them mad. 😅)

But while she was dodging roaches, she was also quietly battling something else: anxiety.

As a child, Angela didn’t have the language for what she was feeling. Labeled “too emotional” or “too sensitive,” she withdrew after the loss of her father at a young age—grieving deeply while overachieving to hold everything together on the outside.

Now, with nearly two decades of experience as a therapist (and many years in therapy herself), Angela understands what she didn’t know back then: those big feelings weren’t a flaw. She didn’t need to toughen up—she needed tools, support, and a space where sensitivity could be seen as a strength.

That understanding became the heart behind her latest creation:
🦋 Buggin’ Out: An Anxiety & Mindfulness Guide for Kids & Teens.

This playful, creative, and science-informed workbook helps young people understand and manage anxiety through the surprisingly wise (and often misunderstood) world of insects—even the creepy-crawly ones.

Inside, readers will find:
✔️ Fun bug facts and metaphors (because bugs make brilliant teachers)
✔️ Drawing and writing prompts
✔️ Kid-friendly mindfulness techniques
✔️ Affirmations that actually stick
✔️ Practical tools to feel calmer, braver, and more in control

✨ Best of all, Angela had the joy of collaborating with her oldest son—the mysterious and wildly talented Francis the Rage Machine. His illustrations bring every bug and emotion to life with humor, heart, and incredible personality.

Although written for kids and teens, Buggin’ Out is also a wonderful resource for:
🌿 Parents supporting their child’s emotional world
🌿 Therapists and counselors looking to enhance their work
🌿 Educators integrating mindfulness into the classroom

Whether it’s for a child who’s been called “too sensitive,” a kid fascinated by bugs, or your own inner child in need of some insect-inspired wisdom, Buggin’ Out offers something meaningful.
