Ms. Jeanette leading a 3-part round of “Sweetly Sings the Donkey” in class last week!! Big round of applause for all of the grownups!!! 👏👏👏
We don’t expect our infants to 4-year-olds to be able to sing a round, but this is a wonderful listening experience for them! Children might be able to start participating in rounds when they are 5 or 6 years old.
Singing a round is hard!! I usually say it’s our “grownup challenge” for the week and the point is that your children see you trying and participating. If the round totally falls apart, that’s ok!! The kids just witnessed all of us singing and having fun, and that’s what’s most important 🥰

Huge round of applause for Lucy being the most on-beat, enthusiastic, and adorable elephant ever!! 👏👏
“Elephant” from The Elephant Collection is written in Phrygian, an unusual mode or scale that children usually are not exposed to outside of The Music Class.
We include all sorts of complex musical scales, meters, and styles in every TMC collection because if children are exposed to a comprehensive musical vocabulary when they are young, it is much easier for them to understand and reproduce those sounds when they get older!
Just like learning multiple languages as a young child is much easier than trying to learn new languages as an adult. 🤓
This wonderful nanny is singing “Kye Kye Kule”!! Do you recognize it from The Lion Collection? It’s a traditional song from Ghana ❤️
Behind the scenes recording “Waiting for the Bus” from The Elephant Collection 🥰🥹🚌
Waiting for the Bus is Ms. Raina’s adaptation of a popular children’s nursery rhyme from South Korea, “D**g, D**g, D**gdaemun.” Fun fact - the song and accompanying game were featured in Squid Games!
These three fabulous recording artists are The Music Class students Renee Fredrick, Tessa Nigro, and Juliette Wallace, who were 4, 7, and 6 at the time.
The song (along with most TMC songs) was recorded in Mr. Rob’s basement studio.
Everything is done in-house at TMC! 🤣
