Head to your local library and check out the Georgia Reads for America 250 reading list! Every public library in Georgia has copies of the featured titles available for readers of all ages—unless they’re already checked out because they’re that popular!

To make reading accessible for everyone, many titles are also available in Braille and audiobook formats. Whether you’re reading at the beach, by the pool, on a road trip, or from the comfort of home, there’s a book waiting for you.

Visit your local library, pick up a title from the list, and join readers across Georgia as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary through stories that inspire, educate, and connect us.

Lee County is throwing the ultimate Happy Birthday USA Party, and you are invited!

Red, White & Bluey at The Bindery at Oakland Library will begin Tuesday, June 9, at 1:00 PM! This FREE celebration is packed with fun for the whole family. Mayor Daughtry will kick things off with a special reading of Hey, Georgia by Malcolm Mitchell, plus there will be balloons, dancing, cake, and pictures with Bluey himself!

This event is part of Georgia Reads for America250, celebrating our nation's birthday through the power of literacy. Brought to you by Lee County Library and Literate Lee. This is one party you do not want to miss!

Last week, we had the opportunity to visit Books for Keeps in Athens as part of their Georgia Reads Community Award recognition! 📚✨

For years, Books for Keeps has been doing tremendous work to expand access to books and strengthen literacy opportunities for children and families across their community.
