Research proves that there are many ways for a child to thrive; there’s not just one way that works. Yet, if a child has these present in their life, they will grow up with less trauma. ⬇️ Read Below

Firstly, if it didn’t happen this way, it’s not the end of the world. I’m not here to shame anyone, as many parents don’t have any other choice but to place their children into childcare, into someone else’s hands while they work to provide for their family.

When a child comes into this world, they are intrinsically connected to both parents, especially their mother. A child wants to feel secure and nurtured by their mother the most and wants to play and explore with their father more. Having both parents present is crucial for their development. If the parents grow apart, they need to be committed to their children and be present with them as much as they can. I feel for those who are left alone, when the other parent doesn’t want anything to do with them. If that’s you, know you’re not alone and your child can still thrive. Keep doing the best you can every day.

As a parent, you want the best for your child: the best home, life, food, water, and so on. The foundations are essential, yet a child would rather play with you than receive the latest toy. They don’t care about the newest toy; they adore time with their parents the most. This builds trust and shows them a true relationship. As they grow older, they will naturally reflect on this and know what a good relationship is.

Children observe and listen to everything; they’re little sponges. If they witness healthy relationships, hobbies, and experiences, they will naturally form into a healthy lifestyle. We need to lead by example and show them that they don’t need much to be happy and have fun. They can be in pure bliss in the sand, leaves, mountains, and oceans. They can have fun through pure connection and playful games that involve each other, not a toy or a screen.

Kids love nature the most, and it’s one of the best remedies for them. Being in nature helps with circulating their emotions, grounds them, brings out their playful side and so much more.

🎤 Workshop announcement!

“Who’s on the Stage?”

Exploring nervous system science and attachment theory for a more embodied, authentic performance. 🌟

In this in-person introductory workshop, participants will be invited to reflect on their performance art and explore the chemistry of fight/flight, dorsal-vagal shut-down and freeze. These states often arise during a performance and can result in stage fright and cause us to disembody.

Content will include an introduction to autonomic nervous system function, emphasizing the influence of the vagus nerve as outlined in Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory. 🧠

Participants will learn Chi for Two® partner practices designed to help recognize and stabilize instances of transference and countertransference, as well as trauma responses that may emerge on stage. You are invited to bring an instrument of your choice, but it is not required. 🎸🥁

Certified Chi for Two Embodiment Coach, Bodyworker, Musician and Performing Artist, Mary Lou Davidson.
