Since 1991, DJ Cozy Shawn has been putting his heart and soul into every groove he spins. Originally from Westbury, Long Island, NY, and a cornerstone of Atlanta’s eclectic nightlife scene since 1997, DJ Cozy Shawn is known for crafting deeply soulful journeys through classic NYC disco, rare grooves, jazz-funk, Latin, deep house, soundtracks, golden-age hip hop, and beyond.

A longtime resident DJ at legendary venues including MJQ Concourse, Atlanta Botanical Garden’s Cocktails in the Garden, Argosy, Buteco, Jojo’s Beloved Cocktail Lounge, Beetlecat, and many more, Cozy Shawn has spent decades building dance floors, connecting communities, and preserving the spirit of musical discovery.

His résumé includes sharing stages with luminaries such as Questlove, Madlib, Rich Medina, DJ Drama, Peanut Butter Wolf, Kai Alce, and countless others, while opening for artists including Me’Shell Ndegeocello, Kassa Overall, Citizen Cope, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Russell Gunn’s Jazz Krunk Orchestra.

Rooted in church and driven by a spirit that defies boundaries, their music blends raw energy, deep emotion, and fearless improvisation into performances that feel both familiar and otherworldly. What began as CJ’s dream to give their sound a true stage has grown into a family-powered force captivating audiences everywhere they play.
