Honoring Rev. Dr. Jaye Lynn Peabody Smith – A Trailblazer in Public Service! 🙏🏾💡
Our soror, Rev. Dr. Jaye Lynn Peabody Smith, is a scholar, author, and faith leader, dedicated to service, education, and spiritual empowerment. In 1992, she made history as the first African American Student Government President at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and in 2024, she became the first full-time Black woman faculty member at BSK Theological Seminary in Kentucky.
Her outstanding contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including:
🏆 Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Southern Region Trailblazer Award (2014)
🏆 CDC/ATSDR Black Women Rock Honoree (2014)
🏆 Credle Inspired Enterprises Woman of Valor Award (2024)
Rev. Dr. Jaye is also a published author and theologian, with works including:

I am excited to announce I will be joining the faculty at BSK: Baptist Seminary of Kentucky in the role of Assistant Professor of
Pastor/Spiritual Care. I am grateful to do what I love at a seminary that affirms social justice, women in ministry, black church studies, and many other areas I am passionate about. I thank God for a great fit! I also thank each of you who prayed, guided, and encouraged me in this process.
