This patient came to Kalos after a facelift performed in Mexico left her with hypertrophic scarring and nerve damage. Her treatment plan begins with a hair transplant to camouflage the scars, followed by a future revision facelift and scar correction.

Patients should carefully research their surgeon’s training, experience, and long-term follow-up care before making a decision.

When it comes to facial surgery, the least expensive option can sometimes become the most costly.

At Kalos, Dr. Stong frequently evaluates patients seeking solutions for previous facial surgery complications and creates individualized plans to restore aesthetics.

A natural-looking facelift should never look stretched or β€œpulled.”

In this educational video, Dr. Stong explains what actually creates a natural facelift result: vertical lifting, deep structural support, proper tissue release, and secure fixation to stable anatomy β€” not excessive skin tension.

The goal is not to pull the face tighter. The goal is to restore the facial structures that have descended over time while maintaining natural expression.

Facelift healing is a process β€” and with the KalosLift, each stage brings you closer to a more refined, natural, and long-lasting result.

Dr. Stong’s KalosLift is his mini extended deep plane facelift, designed to restore youthful facial structure while maintaining natural expression. As the Advanced Deep Plane Facelift Center of Excellence, Kalos focuses exclusively on advanced facial rejuvenation with refined, natural-looking results.

Unlike techniques that simply tighten the surface, the KalosLift lifts and repositions the deeper facial layer, known as the SMAS. This allows Dr. Stong to elevate the cheeks vertically, improve lower face heaviness, define the jawline, and create a smoother neck contour. The deeper structures are then secured for long-lasting support, which is key to achieving results that look both natural and durable.

An added benefit of midface elevation is improvement in the under-eye area, as lifting the cheek support can help soften lower eyelid heaviness as part of the overall rejuvenation.

Recovery typically includes about 10–14 days of initial downtime, with close follow-up visits during that period. In the first week, swelling and bruising are expected while sutures are removed in stages and the incisions are closely monitored. By week two, most patients are through the initial acute healing phase, with bruising fading and swelling beginning to improve.

Around weeks 3–4, many patients return to normal routines and exercise, though we recommend avoiding major events or professional photos until you feel fully camera-ready.

From months 1–3, swelling continues to improve week by week. By months 3–6, results become more refined and after photos are typically taken. Final refinement continues through 6–12 months as residual swelling fully settles.

The KalosLift is performed in our private, luxury in-office surgical suite under general anesthesia with a board-certified MD anesthesiologist.

4 months post-op ✨

This beautiful patient is shown before and after her KalosLift Mini Extended Deep Plane Facelift with platysmaplasty neck lift.

At 54 years old, she was looking for a refreshed appearance while still maintaining a natural result. The goal was not to change her identity, but to restore the structure that had softened with time.

The KalosLift is Dr. Stong’s advanced deep plane facelift technique designed to lift and reposition the deeper facial layers, not simply tighten the skin. By releasing and elevating the deeper support layer of the face β€” the cheeks, jawline, lower face, and neck can be restored in a more natural and long lasting direction.

Her result demonstrates improvement in:
β€’ Jawline definition
β€’ Lower face heaviness
β€’ Neck contour
β€’ Jowling
β€’ Overall facial shape and support

Kalos Facial Plastic Surgery is proud to be recognized as the Advanced Deep Plane Facelift Center of Excellence, specializing exclusively in advanced facial rejuvenation and natural-looking results. Dr. Stong’s approach is centered around restoring youthful facial architecture while preserving each patient’s unique beauty.

How the KalosLift restores facial structure!

The face does not age in isolated sections, so Dr. Stong does not treat it that way. The KalosLift deep plane facelift is designed to rejuvenate the under-eyes, midface, jawline, and neck together by lifting the deeper facial tissues as one connected structure.

With a complete deep plane release from the lower eyelid region through the neck, the soft tissues remain preserved to the muscle and are repositioned as one comprehensive flap. This allows Dr. Stong to restore the midface vertically, refine the jawline, and improve the neck through a comprehensive platysmaplasty.

Rather than simply tightening skin, the KalosLift focuses on structural repositioning with precise multivector support. The deeper tissues are anchored to the periosteum for long-lasting lift, natural movement, and results designed to age beautifully over time.

2.5 years post KalosLift and her jawline speaks for itself πŸ‘πŸΌ Lifted, defined, and completely natural-looking.

Long lasting results come from repositioning the deeper facial structures, not simply tightening the skin.

Scrubbing in with Dr. Stong!

Dr. Stong is performing a revision upper blepharoplasty and revision KalosLift mini extended deep plane facelift for a 68-year-old patient who came to Kalos after multiple prior procedures elsewhere.

She had three previous upper blepharoplasties, but her main concerns were never fully addressed. Much of the skin had been removed from the center of the eyelid, leaving excess skin on the outer corners and very little remaining skin toward the inner eyelid. This makes revision eyelid surgery much more complex, because every millimeter matters.

Dr. Stong’s approach is completely customized to her anatomy, focusing on refining the areas that still need improvement while carefully preserving the areas where too much skin has already been removed.

She is also undergoing a revision KalosLift, Dr. Stong’s mini extended deep plane facelift. After not feeling fully satisfied with prior facial rejuvenation surgery, she was ready for a more advanced approach that restores deeper facial support instead of simply tightening the skin.

Revision surgery requires experience, precision, and careful judgment. These cases are about knowing what to correct, what to protect, and how to create a refreshed, natural-looking result.

We are so excited for this patient to finally feel confident in her results.

She came to the right place.

Sculptra stimulates collagen, but not always where you actually want it!

Because Sculptra is injected deeper into the soft tissue, the collagen response is not happening in the skin the way many people think. Over time, this can create fibrotic tissue, blur surgical planes, and make future facial surgery more challenging.

For true skin collagen remodeling, treatments like laser resurfacing, RF microneedling, microneedling, and a consistent tretinoin routine are often more targeted options.

HA filler, on the other hand, replaces something the skin and soft tissue naturally lose over time. It adds volume where facial volume has descended, is not permanent, and can be reversed when needed.

Some facelift β€œtrends” deserve a second opinion.

A true deep plane facelift should be about structural repositioning, not buzzwords, volume shortcuts, or a pulled-back look. The KalosLift is designed to restore support beneath the surface for a result that looks lifted, balanced, and natural.
