👀 Behind the scenes, just in time for spring, something big is growing!! 🌱🏗️

Last weekend, our amazing volunteers showed UP and OUT! Breaking down our old space, shelf by shelf. This is what community in action looks like. 💪🦾📦🪵⚡️

🗣️Real talk! We’re moving now, and we need your help to get to our new home!! ⚡️🏠

💡We’re raising $15,000 to cover essential electrical work in our new space. It has to be done by the end of April. Right now, we’re at 10%. That means we still need about $13,500 in the next few weeks to make this happen. ⚡️

No electrical work = no move. No move = no MASS Collective. 😢

If this space has ever meant something to you, now is the moment to give back! 💚

🔗 link is in our bio to donate, even $5 makes a difference! And if you can’t donate right now, volunteer with us (link in bio) or share one of our moving posts to raise awareness!

A huge thank you with big big love to everyone who has already donated in the last 30 days ❣️ shoutout to Jay B, Zack T, Katina P, Paul B, James B, Nell R, Christopher M, Nigel E, Neil F & Erynn B ! You’re the reason we keep going!! Now who’s next? 👀

💕We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support MASS Collective has received over the past few months! THANK YOU to our donors, volunteers, members and our wider arts community in ATL!!! 🥰🛠️💕

💚 However… We’ve only made 8% of our $15k goal. All funds donated in the next month will go directly towards electrical needs in our new space ⚡️We need to raise $10k by the end of April in order to finish electrical so it can support our workshop. 💡If we do not raise enough by then, we simply will not be able to move. ❗️

If you’re looking for a way to support MASS Collective as we build ourselves a new chapter, please donate, share our story, or volunteer with us over the next 30 days! Links below and in bio. Thank you for helping us! ❣️

✨👀 We have some MASSive news to share with you: We’re moving!!! 📦🚛💖

🎉🥳🎉

After nearly 15 years in Castlebury Hill, we’re so happy to announce that MASS Collective has signed a lease with Lifecycle Building Center on the West side of Atlanta. Although we will miss Castlebury Hill dearly, this move has been a long time coming and is necessary for the healthy sustainability of MASS Collective. 🏘️✨

💗Within LBC’s giant warehouse, MASS’ new home is a nearly 100 year-old showroom with beautiful, 1940’s-era architectural details. The relocation means more possibilities for all of us to build, learn and grow, side by side. 🪴

💖It’s such an exciting opportunity to bring new life to a historic space and we can’t wait to fill it with our creative energy! Our team is working hard to design the shop, clean, renovate and develop a long-lasting, symbiotic relationship with LBC. 💖

🌱This move is more than just a new space: it’s about planting roots that strengthen Atlanta’s arts community and honoring space for making while building something new together.🤝

👀We hope to be relocated by early April, but moving a makerspace and community workshop is no small feat. Bringing the new MASS Collective to life will take tons of resources!
There are tools to move, ancient dirt to clean, and spaces to outfit. If you’ve learned, created, or found community at MASS Collective, we’d be honored if you’d consider supporting our move. We’ll need all the help we can get!🧹🤗🛻🧰

💖We’ll be sharing ways to contribute soon, whether through donations, volunteer time, or simply spreading the word.🗣️

🙏Thank you for all your help in keeping MASS Collective’s heart beating. 💓 We couldn’t be more excited about what we will create together!🧱🔨👷👷‍♀️👷‍♂️⚒️💕

✨Here’s to new spaces, old buildings, and the community that makes it all matter.💖

MASS Collective would like to make a warm welcome to Jo Onishi and Irene Ruby as interim Co-Executive Directors!

Officially onboarded last month, Jo is heading organizational restructuring and Irene is directing outreach and fundraising. Together, they work closely with our Board of Directors, apprenticeship coordinators, shop managers, and each other to help MASS Collective thrive and grow.

We’re so excited to expand our team and for new directions! The future looks bright!!

MASS Collective has been busy making…

Shop manager Ryan Stoddard recently created these wonderful wood frames in an extraordinary, extraterrestrial style! How cool are these alien forms?!? First frame, housing an Alien film poster, is inspired by the designs of H. R. Giger. 🙀

Check out their page for more eccentricities and beauty in many mediums 👀👽🎇✨🪐🔩⛓️‍💥🪾
