✨ MEET THE HONOREES ✨

Georgia Equality is proud to announce our honorees for Evening for Equality! Leading up the the event on June 27, we will be highlighting each honoree and celebrating their invaluable contributions to Georgia's LGBTQ+ community.

First up is Representative Park Cannon receiving the Phillip Rush Community Builder Award. As a Representative for the 58th House District, Rep. Cannon has devoted her legislative work to protecting Georgia’s most vulnerable, including LGBTQ+ Georgians. Not only has Rep. Cannon served her constituents, but Cannon has also prioritized empowering the community– from offering leadership and advocacy programs, to mentoring transgender and gender non-conforming advocates, to acting as a guide to all those unfamiliar with state politics.

While her time in the State Capitol may be coming to an end, we know that Rep. Cannon's legacy will continue, as will her commitment to serving the community.

Happening this Friday! Join Georgia Equality and partners as we come together for a vigil to raise awareness of healthcare funding cuts and how it impacts all of us. We know that and we will not be silent as our healthcare access is dismantled en masse!

Fast facts:
➡ Last year, lawmakers approved more than $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, public health & rural hospitals, delaying implementation until later this year.
➡ Over 15 million Americans are losing their health coverage – the largest coverage loss in U.S. history.
➡ Researchers estimate these cuts will cause over 51,000 preventable deaths every year.

Happy Pride, y'all!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️✨

As we kick off Pride Month, we're celebrating the defeat of all anti-LGBTQ bills in Georgia and the passage of a bill expanding access to critical HIV prevention. We've demonstrated that we can come together to not only fight back against attacks, but we can also achieve proactive wins for ourselves and our community!

We know there is still so much to fight for, but we're grateful to be in this fight and in community alongside you.

We hope to see many of you at Pride festivals across the state during the coming months, and we hope you'll plan to join us to celebrate at Evening for Equality on June 27! Tickets available now: georgiaequality.org/e4e2026
