Having been raised in a family that welcomed foster children, Wilson was instilled with a deep sense of empathy and a desire to nurture those who are less fortunate.

Drawing upon her experience and with the encouragement of a friend, Wilson founded The Faith Project, Inc. in order to provide tangible assistance and resources to those in need. Over time, The Faith Project has grown from a charitable organization to a government-funded housing facility that serves individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction, or transitioning from imprisonment.
