Internship Report! 📣

Internships are a vital part of a complete education, especially in healthcare! Lorvenska just completed a one month internship at Imaculee Conception Hospital in Les Cayes. During her time in the women’s surgery ward she learned how to take vital signs, attend to dressings, IV set up, catheter insertion, nasal gastric tube, insertion, and general patient care.

One high point of her experience was befriending the patients that she cared for. She even went back after the conclusion to see how they were doing!

We are so proud of Lorvenska. She has the heart and mind to be an excellent nurse! ⚕️🩺

Once they arrive at the retreat location they are greeted with welcome messages from the US Founders and ! Sure wish our US team could have been there!

It’s Student Retreat time! Our students are just returning from a weekend in Jeremie! They were so excited to visit a new town and have some time to learn together outside of Les Cayes!

There were some great games planned like “you’re stranded on a deserted island and you can only bring five things”

And teaching by the amazing Pastor Harold on “Gratitude for the life we are given“

Huge congratulations to Elyse on his official graduation! Elyse finished his degree at BTI in Information Technologies (IT) many months ago, but was finally properly celebrated with his graduation! Elysé serves as the Academic and Housing Supervisor for Bridge and was a recipient of the program as well!

We are so grateful for his dedication to Haitian education!👨🏾‍🎓🎉

Our new students have been busy!

First aid training was followed by distribution of personal computers and the beginning of computer class.💻

Next up… University tours!

Due to the ongoing unrest in Haiti, most Haitians do not have access to emergency medical care.

Because of that, all of our students and staff are trained in first aid and CPR. We want to ensure they have the skills necessary to act in an emergency.

May 1st is celebrated as Agricultural and Labor Day, a national holiday that honors both the country’s laborers and the importance of agriculture. This day is a time to recognize the contributions of farmers and agricultural workers, often with food fairs featuring local dishes.

Last week our students had their Leadership meeting! They were inspired by the words of a wonderful local pastor and his wife!

A group of students have developed the “Together” project to raise chicks as a small business experience.

This week they had a whole bunch of new babies! Celebrating their success! 🎉
