Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates freedom, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of justice.

As we reflect on this important chapter in our nation's history, we honor the sacrifices, achievements, and contributions of African Americans whose strength and perseverance have helped shape our communities and country.

At ISB Atlanta, we recognize that building stronger communities begins with understanding our shared history, embracing our diversity, and working together toward a future rooted in dignity, opportunity, and mutual respect for all.

May this day inspire reflection, learning, and a renewed commitment to justice, compassion, and unity.

Amal Yusuf reminds us that leadership isn't defined by where you begin, but by the resilience, courage, and compassion you bring along the way. From escaping war-torn Somalia as a child to becoming a General Manager at Delta Air Lines and being recognized among the Top Women in Travel & Hospitality 2026, Amal's journey is a powerful testament to perseverance, purpose, and lifting others as you rise. Her story inspires the next generation to lead boldly, embrace their unique experiences, and turn adversity into impact.

This week, we’re grateful to share a few moments from the Summer Lunch Program in action.

ISB, ICCA, Church of the Nativity, and Congregation B’nai Israel have come together once again this summer to help ensure children in our community receive meals throughout the week.

Every Thursday, volunteers from the Muslim community join with our neighboring faith communities to pack lunches and prepare them for Friday delivery.

it’s beautiful to see so many hands and hearts come together in service.

Last week we had a successful first week of the Summer Lunch Program.

ISB, ICCA, Church of the Nativity, and Congregation B’nai Israel have come together once again this year to help deliver over 500 lunches!

Children receive lunches every weekday through out the summer, totaling 2,500 lunches per week, and on Thursdays, the Muslim community joins with our neighboring faith communities to pack the meals and prepare them for Friday delivery.

Alhamdulillah, we had about 80 volunteers come together to serve our community.
