🌱 March Photo/ Video Recap 🌱
This past month has been so incredibly full, near to bursting. It’s been wonderful and tiring and full of surprises and lots of wins. It’s also called on me to take a long, hard look at my priorities and see where I am giving too much of myself and where I’d rather be spending my time. Never an easy task, nor a complete one as the seasons change and so do I.
These are the kinds of thoughts I contemplate in my monthly newsletter. I look back at the month that has passed while simultaneously look ahead at the dreams that have yet to bear fruit. If you’re interested in taking a peek behind the curtain, of delving deeper into one of my *many* varied interests, you should sign up to receive it, which you can do via the link in my bio.
From one book lover to another 📚💛
I try not to fill these book boxes with anything other than something I, myself, would love to receive. I also do my best to customize each box for the person as well as the overall book vibe. It’s probably the most fun task I have at my bookshop because I get to spend an entire day (or three) picking out books specific to an individual. 🥹
If you are interested in snagging one for yourself (or your bookish bestie!) you can do so via the link in my bio entitled “Monthly Book Subscription”.
PS—nearly all of the subscriptions come with free shipping 😘
🌱 Happy Vernal Equinox 🌱
Today, day and night will be nearly equal due to the Earth’s tilt. For those of us in the northern hemisphere, that means we are tumbling in to spring, in to longer days, in to sunshine and intense heat. Whereas, in the southern hemisphere, you all are gearing up for shorter days, all the blankets, and cozy evenings spent with something warm to drink 💛
I love this first official day of spring. It feels like the perfect time to look at the year ahead, to anticipate the growth both within ourselves and outside in the natural world. I like to spend each spring equinox outside with my hands in the dirt. It just feels right.
So tell me, what do you have planned for this marvelous spring day?

If you enjoyed Big Magic, then I’ve gathered a few other reads you may like! These are all creative books that I’ve found especially helpful, both in my writing and motivating myself as an artist.
Have you read any of these? Or what books have you found motivating that I should add to my list?

Are you team rotary cutter or team scissors?
For me, it really depends on the project. For anything requiring super precise lines, or for fabrics that tend to shift, I will reach for my rotary cutter in a heart beat. I especially love the sound it makes as it glide across slippery silk and rayon fibers.
For everything else, scissors are my go-to. I tend to keep a pair in every workspace I occupy as they always come in handy for something!.

*This rotary cutter was gifted to me as I am a brand ambassador for . I was not asked to create this post.

What are you working on in this second week of the new year?
Currently, I am trying to find the motivation to finish these tartan wool shorts before the end of the weekend. I started these last year and have since abandoned them in my “to be finished” pile. Is it just me or are there other chronic multiple-unfinished-project sewists out there with a pile of half completed work? I can’t be the only one, right?
