Bolster founding principal Donald R. Washington, Jr. attended Georgia Trend’s Annual 40 Under 40 Awards Ceremony last week. Congratulations to Donald and the other outstanding individuals for being honored with this award!

This month, we’re combining our Standing on the Shoulders and campaigns for a true “passing of the torch” moment…

First, we’d like to applaud T. Dallas Smith on an incredible career and thank him for paving the way for African Americans in commercial real estate. Dallas became the first Black broker at Cushman & Wakefield Georgia in 1989, before pioneering the brokerage division for H.J. Russell & Company. With the blessing of the late H. J. Russell, Dallas opened T. Dallas Smith & Company in 2006 and has since grown the firm exponentially.

As part of our series, which spotlights trailblazing individuals in real estate, we’re spotlighting Leonte Benton. Once an intern at T. Dallas Smith & Company, Leonte was recently named its new president. As one of the youngest African Americans to lead a real estate brokerage firm in the U.S., Leonte is an emerging leader and strong community advocate.
