To whoever says “just change the shower cartridge” — come identify this one first.

This valve is around 30 years old, looks like it might be a Delta, and I’m stuck trying to figure out what cartridge actually fits before I buy the wrong thing and make the project worse.

The wall is open, the old hardware is exposed, and I really don’t want to close this up only to discover the parts are discontinued or impossible to match.

Be honest — identify and repair it, hunt down the right Delta cartridge, or call it outdated and replace the entire valve while I have access?
