Hey team, we’ve just had a concrete foundation poured for a garage and one corner of the form work has bowed during pouring far enough that some of the supports have been un-nailed. I reckon the maximum deviation past where it should have stopped is about an inch, about one metre from the corner. See the pic of the whole mostly straight length.
Will this cause any issues in terms of getting the frame on and past inspection (Auckland)? The wall above that side of the structure will be James hardy panels due to fire regulations close to property boundaries. Should we be going after the concreters to sort it out? If we’ve got to remediate, what’s the best bet? Grinding it down?

My jaw kind of dropped when I saw how this insulation was being handled during install. The batts look like they’re just being shoved into place without really cutting or fitting them properly around studs, outlets, and wiring. Some pieces are folded or crammed in, which makes it look like they’re losing thickness in spots and bulging in others. I always thought insulation was supposed to be neat and evenly placed so it performs correctly, but this looks rushed. The wall has a mix of exposed studs, partially filled sections, and uneven coverage across the whole length. It doesn’t exactly give me confidence that it’s going to insulate properly once drywall goes up. Am I overthinking this or does this look like sloppy insulation work?😂😂

Got called out for a repair and found a pretty wild situation. The flooring crew had poured self-leveler on the other side of the wall, and somehow it made its way through and completely sealed the drain lines. Absolute mess. It ended up being more than I was willing to tackle, but I did point out that if self-leveler can get into the pipes, water can definitely get back out. The crazy part is this is a brand-new construction home in an $800k–$1M+ neighborhood.
Edit: Just to be clear, none of this was my work — I was only called in to see if I could fix it.

My best buddy is trying to build a deck himself, I know nothing about carpentry than what I’ve seen here… is he doing all right?

My neighbor had a contractor install a new fence yesterday, and I noticed it looked a little close to our side of the yard. I measured it this morning and it's about 7 inches inside my property line. When I mentioned it, he said it's 'basically the same thing' and not worth moving. Am I overreacting here, or is this something that actually needs to be fixed?😂
