C2E2/CHICAGO—I’m going all-in this year and I need your help to make it happen. 🏙️🙏

C2E2 has always been a home away from home for me. Since I started tabling there back in 2022, you guys have supported my journey in ways that have quite literally kept my career going.

I didn’t get into Artist Alley this year, but instead of staying home, I decided to bet on myself (& on you guys) by getting an Exhibitor Corner Booth (booth 799).

To be totally transparent with you all: this is a scary move. Between the booth costs and travel, I’ve invested A LOT to be there this weekend. I’m definitely feeling the nerves.

Even more daunting? For the first time at C2E2, I’m doing the show completely solo. Every year before this, I’ve had a friend or loved one by my side helping me run the table, but this time, it’s just me, my art, and you guys.

I’ve put everything I have into this weekend to make sure it’s the best experience possible for you guys.

🩸 ULTRA-LIMITED EXCLUSIVES: I’m dropping a special “Bloody Version” art print set of my Invincible 1 reprint covers that didn’t make it to print. They’re hand-numbered and limited to only 15 sets. Once they’re gone, they are gone forever.

The Energon Universe has been one of the best things in comics since it started, and Transformers has been an absolute standout title. So I am unbelievably humbled and excited to have gotten to create this cover along side my friend and fellow incredible artist !! I laid down the composition, pencils and inks and Kyle provided the absolutely stunning colors & rendering!

Today is my Dad’s birthday. And it’s the first one since he passed away earlier this year. It’s honestly hit me harder than I was expecting. It made me realize that this is the start of a lot of “Firsts” without him. It will soon be the first Halloween without him. The first Thanksgiving without him. My first birthday without him. And then my first Christmas without him. My favorite time of the year is going to be marked by many days that brutally remind me that he’s gone. I honestly don’t know how I am going to handle any of it.
This year has been one of the hardest of my life. With losing my Dad being the absolute largest part of that. But at the same time it’s been the most successful year of my professional career. And that has been a very difficult circumstance to navigate emotionally. I am so, so thankful for all of the successes I have had. I’ve had more published covers than I had almost all of the last 2 years combined, I’ve done/am doing far more conventions this year than any previous year including being a featured guest at many of them, and I have gotten to create artwork for IP’s that I’ve adored since I was a kid. But with all of that has come a monumental amount of added stress & anxiety. More covers has meant a massive amount of extra workload with insane deadlines, all the while getting ready and going out of town sooo much more than I ever have before, while still having all of the facets of my work that I have had to do on my own for the last several years. Then you add in all of the incredibly difficult things that have been happening in my personal life, especially as of late, and I feel like I have been burning at both ends and am running out of wick. I’ve been doing my absolute best to hang on through it all, and it’s all by the grace of God and the small group of amazing family and friends that I have supporting me that I have hung on. It’s all just so much. And the thing that cuts through all of it the sharpest is how much I miss my Dad. I wish he was here. He would know exactly what to say to give me strength, and to help push my head back up through all of the things happening in my life.
I miss the absolute hell out of you Dad.

**HUGE COVER ANNOUNCEMENT**
In a year where I have checked off many bucket list cover dreams, this just may be the biggest of the bunch for me!
My cover for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #1 officially releases next Wednesday 7/24!!

That is a sentence that I never, ever thought I would get to say.
I got to draw a variant cover for the first issue of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ongoing series, and it’s an absolutely massive honor.
For this cover I wanted to go back to basics since it is a fresh start for the series, and feature an awesome splash image of the four turtles themselves just looking awesome 🤘
This was an absolute blast to work on, and over the last few months getting to really hone in on my style of drawing the Ninja Turtles has been an incredible experience. And I think it pays off in this cover. This is my stylistic stamp on TMNT, and I’m incredibly proud of it.
As always my partner in crime laid down some amazing animated style colors for this piece, and crushed it 🤘

I will be officially launching pre-orders for this cover on my website Deegan.bigcartel.com TOMORROW 7/19 EST (yes for real this time haha I know the last couple launches to my site had hiccups and delays, but this one WILL launch at midnight). So please, PLEASE head there this Friday and order a copy. This was such an honor and a blast to work on! Growing up in the 90’s Witchblade was such a huge deal, & you couldn’t go into a comic shop or open a magazine without seeing her everywhere. So getting to do a variant cover for the relaunch of this incredibly awesome character is such a joy & an honor!
& helped me bring this piece to life with their color work, and I think they absolutely killed it!
