Micro channel coil to header repair
Does anyone have luck fixing leaks where the coil attaches to the header?
We usually end up replacing the coil if it’s leaking there.

I built this 36 years ago!
My grandmother just passed last month. This is the first furnace I built from scrap parts. Everything here was used except the blower relay. It’s being replaced with electric :(

Trying to see how fast I can summon big red or Jpulls.
Two systems one carrier and one Armstrong. Years with no maintenance on both. Specimen samples in filter and strainer on one. Then soot buildup on another. Fun day so far.

Hi everyone! I recently hired someone to “raise condensing unit without recovering refrigerant and level ground and pad underneath. Lower condensing unit onto level surface and check all operation” on my hvac at my new place after it got flagged in my inspection report. I have no what I’m looking at, so can someone tell me if this looks correct now?? Thanks in advance!

Techs - What's the oldest AC system you've seen?

I've been collecting quotes for a replacement of the ac & furnace and my ac system (pictured) has had the following reactions:

Holy s**t that's old

That thing came off the Mayflower

Going to need to dig into the archives to find parts for this one (he was unsuccessful)

As far as I can tell it's from the mid 80's and the furnace is from the early 90's. But I'm curious as to what some of the oldest systems you all have seen?

I messed up
I took the fan off my ac and the guards off to deep clean the coils. These two cords came undone. I found other similar Reddit posts and i thought i put them back right but my outside unit is just cycling on and off in short spurts. I tried reading this diagram thing but might as well be in another language. Where am i supposed to connect them ?

Is this thin pipe suppose to be cold and have condensation? Or is that a sign of a problem? We are troubleshooting an AC that has issues intermittently. While testing the capacitor, I noticed this line sweating and it was cold to the touch. Thanks for any help!
