Dayle and I join our fellow Georgians in mourning the passing of our dear friend, faithful public servant, and former House Majority Leader, Larry Walker, Jr.

Dayle and I were excited to join the Georgia School Boards Association this week to share the incredible progress we're making to get Georgia's children reading.

The Georgia Early Literacy Act of 2026 is a major investment in our students, but we know that its success depends on the teachers and local school board members putting these resources to work in classrooms across our state. We're grateful for their partnership as we build a brighter future for Georgia's children.

Today, we remember the brave American heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy eighty-two years ago.

May we always honor their sacrifice and strive to uphold the freedoms and principles they fought to secure for generations to come.

It was great to be with leaders from Effingham Health System earlier this week to learn more about the important work they are doing to provide quality, affordable healthcare throughout our community.

Today, we honor the American heroes who gave the last full measure of devotion to protect and defend the freedoms we hold dear.

Dayle and I are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Ogeechee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Robert Busbee.

Robert’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and strengthening public safety made our community and our state a better place. We join his family and all those who were impacted by his service in mourning his loss.

Dayle and I want to congratulate our grandson, Jon David, and every graduate in the Class of 2026 on the hard work and dedication that brought them to this incredible milestone.

We couldn’t be prouder of Jon David, and we are excited to see all the amazing things this year’s graduates will accomplish as they begin this next chapter.
