The Foundation continues Johnny's legacy by partnering with individuals and organizations dedicated to celebrating and nourishing the disciplines he mastered, and the causes he and Ginger Mercer championed.

Born May 26, 1920, Peggy Lee would be 106 today!

The Johnny Mercer Foundation is delighted to announce the songwriters chosen for the 2026 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project at Belmont University.

This June these emerging talents join us at Belmont University’s state-of-the-art facilities in the heart of Music Row, Nashville for a week-long intensive with expert mentors Stephen Bray, Craig Carnelia, and Lauren Lucas.

Do you have summer plans yet? ☀️ We'd love for you to come join us! Our two annual "summer camp" programs are back and applications are now open for both!

The Young Songwriters Intensive at Snow Pond Community Arts will be held this year from June 9 - 15, with applications due on March 1st. This week-long course and retreat is for aspiring songwriters ages 14 - 25 who are looking to learn and/or advance their skills in contemporary and musical theater songwriting. Plus, it's a really fun time by a beautiful lake!

Then our Songwriters Project at Belmont University's Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business in Nashville will be held from June 21 - 28, with applications due on March 20th. This program is for emerging songwriters and songwriting teams (ages 18 - 30) across all musical genres. It's an immersive and collaborative experience culminating in a concert of new work, in the Songwriting Capital of the World!
