The Learning Tea has accepts up to 12 young women per year—all honors students in their respective grades—into our center. There is no other way to put this other than we need your help. More specifically the young women who are our Learning Tea scholars need your help. The pandemic situation in India is critical. Just do a quick search of COVID-19 in India and you’ll understand. All of our scholars are now displaced. Last month, our landlord in Darjeeling decided the space that has been home to our students for years will be a short term rental for visitors. We don’t blame him, but we’re concerned for our scholars. They had to move themselves into a new space that is further from their schools. For as long as we can remember, you all have supported our mission to provide shelter, food and education for our scholars. At this time of uncertainty, we hope you’ll continue do so through the donation link below. If you would like to see more photos and updates please join our mailing list, also our Taste of India dinner tickets for May are on sale now on our website. We and our young scholars thank you with all our hearts!
