Yesterday the Cobb Chamber and SelectCobb hosted the 2026 Economic Development Summit at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The event, presented by Huntington National Bank, welcomed over 300 attendees to learn the impact Cobb County is making on the global marketplace. Throughout the program, leaders from various industries shared how global connections, international investment, talent development, and infrastructure are shaping Cobb's next chapter.

Cobb County Government has done it again! For the 29th consecutive year, the county has earned a AAA bond rating for the 29th consecutive year!

This week, the nation's top three credit rating agencies (Moody's, Fitch, and S&P Global) each affirmed Cobb's AAA status, a distinction only a small handful of counties nationwide can claim.

"These ratings reflect the county's exceptional financial strength, prudent fiscal management, sound leadership, and long-term commitment to responsible budgeting and financial planning," said Cobb CFO Buddy Tesar.

What does it mean for you? A top-tier bond rating allows the county to borrow at lower interest rates, while signaling to residents and businesses alike that Cobb is a well-run, financially stable place to live, work, and invest.

"It also shows residents and businesses here that we are excellent stewards of their finances. We do not take our responsibilities lightly," said Chairwoman Lisa Cupid.

This week the Cobb Chamber hosted a conversation on the highly anticipated two tower, mixed-use development next to the Battery Atlanta, The Henry.

Representatives from Goldenrod Companies, JE Dunn Construction and the Atlanta Braves shared The Henry's journey so far. The project includes luxury apartments and condos, a Marriot Autograph Collection hotel, elevated retail, and a pedestrian bridge connecting the property to the Battery.

This brand-new 6,000-square-foot facility represents a ~$6 million investment in Cobb County's aviation infrastructure, featuring modern passenger lounges, crew amenities, and first-class hospitality spaces for corporate, business, and recreational aviation.

The new terminal supports a team of approximately 22 aviation professionals, with room to grow as activity at RYY continues to climb.
