If we’re going to win this existential fight for parity and equity in capital formation, we’ve got to defund galas and award shows, conferences and fund legal defense funds, venture & equity crowdfunding education and investment vehicles. We’re celebrating signals while they are celebrating legal wins.

Stop staying distracted.

In about an hour, The House of Representatives will vote on HR2799 which ultimately can help Black tech startups and emerging venture funds and beyond raise more capital. Last year, Black venture funding dropped to less than .69%. In Atlanta, VC funding to Black founders declined by 79%. This is one way that we can bring new and more investors into our company’s rounds and as LP in our funds. I am asking you to call you Congressman or Congresswoman and ask them to vote for HR2799. Time is of the essence. ✊🏾

I spoke this word to the ecosystem in 2020. Everything in it remains true today. In reality, things are worse and our work remains underinvested and unprotected more than ever. What are you going to do it about? We are we going to do about it?
