Planning to Burn? Don't Forget to Notify. With the Bush Fire Danger Period concluding this evening, the requirement for landholders to obtain a fire permit also concludes. However, it is important to remember that although you will no longer require a fire permit you still need to provide the @NSWRFSCudgegong and all adjoining neighbours at least 24 hours notice of your intention to burn. Notifying the Cudgegong District Fire Control Centre is easy! You can submit your intention to burn notice by: SMS - 0408 116 465 Email - [email protected] Social Media - m.me/NSWRFSCudgegong Phone - 02 6372 4434 (business hours only) When submitting a notification, landholders must include: - Full Name - Address (and Property Name if applicable) - Contact Number - Burn Dates (maximum one month at a time) Notifications allow for the NSW RFS to be aware when landholders are conducting burning activities to avoid wasting time of our #volunteer #firefighters attending to controlled burns. Failure to notify can result in substantial fines and prison terms for persons found to be in breach of the Rural Fires Act 1997 and its Regulations. #nswrfs
