This morning, we attended a docent-led tour of the Dior exhibit at SCAD FASH museum with a few AMIS students. Such beautiful designs and it was interesting to hear the backstory and crafting process behind them. If you enjoy fashion and design, you should definitely check out this exhibition at SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion in Midtown!

Join AMIS for a tour of the SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film on Saturday, August 15th at 11 AM!

The current exhibition is Dior: Crafting Fashion which explores his creative process. This will be a fun opportunity to connect with fellow international students and AMIS friends and volunteers while touring this special exhibit. To gain entry for free, you must bring and show your student ID. Friends and volunteers are welcome to join us! Entry is $10 for anyone without a student ID.

The museum tour begins promptly at 11AM. We suggest getting there early, around 10:30 AM and waiting in the lobby so we can all walk in together. The SCAD Museum is a 15 minute walk from the MARTA Arts Center Station. Sign up using the link in our bio or at amisatlanta.org/events!

What a special day! AMIS volunteers and an international PhD student from Sri Lanka joined to volunteer at the Atlanta Children's Day Shelter today. They read books to the students that were then donated to the shelter. One of the books was authored by our very own volunteer of the year Nadeen Green! Nadeen also donated Chinese New Year activity kits for this fun service opportunity. AMIS provided snacks for the kids and volunteers played games with the children, made crafts, and shared lots of laughs and a few hugs too! Thank you to everyone that came out and a big. Thank you to the Shelter for having us!

We’re really excited about this new, special opportunity for international students and friends of AMIS to volunteer with us at the Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter on August 5th at 2:30 PM. ACDS is celebrating their 40th anniversary of providing childcare and education for the young children of families facing homelessness. AMIS will take over three early childhood classrooms to introduce the children to various international cultures through activities, reading and games. AMIS participating students and volunteers will help develop the activities that we will do. What a wonderful way to introduce your culture to the students and bring a smile to their faces.
