In this interview, I share the story behind Align Health Coaching, including how my own healing and spiritual awakening led me toward this work.

Your nervous system is not broken. It may just be overloaded.
If you’ve been feeling exhausted no matter how much you sleep, snapping at small things, craving sugar or caffeine, or feeling wired and tired at the same time, your body may be asking for support.
Not more shame.
Not more willpower.
Not another impossible wellness routine.
Support.
A dysregulated nervous system can show up as:
Waking up already tired
Feeling overstimulated by normal daily tasks
Having trouble falling asleep even when you’re exhausted
Feeling tense, reactive, or emotionally drained
Reaching for quick energy just to get through the day
The good news is that your nervous system is designed to respond to consistent, gentle care.
Start small.
Try this today: take 3 slow exhales, making each exhale longer than your inhale. Let your shoulders drop. Let your jaw soften. Let your body know, “I am safe in this moment.”
It may not fix everything instantly, but it is a signal.
And those signals matter.
Small. Consistent. Real.
That’s where healing begins.

Here's the wellness truth nobody talks about enough:
You don't need a perfect morning routine. You don't need to overhaul your diet. You don't need to meditate for 30 minutes before sunrise.
You need one small thing you'll actually do.
For some people, that's drinking a glass of lemon water before tea. For others, it's stepping outside for 5 minutes after lunch. For others still, it's pausing before a meal and taking one slow breath.
None of these feel dramatic. But all of them signal to your nervous system: I'm paying attention. I'm choosing myself.
That's where sustainable wellness starts, not in the big gestures, but in the quiet, consistent ones.

June is here, and so is the sun.
Most of us know sunscreen matters. But the wellness conversation often skips this part:
Not all sunscreens are created the same.
Your skin is your largest organ, and while it does an incredible job protecting you, what you put on it still matters. That means sunscreen isn’t just about SPF. It’s also about ingredients, your body, your skin sensitivity, and what feels supportive enough that you’ll actually use it.
A few things worth knowing:
Mineral vs. chemical filters
Mineral sunscreens, like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, sit on top of the skin and physically block UV rays. Chemical filters absorb UV rays and convert them to heat. For sensitive systems, mineral sunscreen is often the gentler place to start.
Ingredients to watch
Oxybenzone and octinoxate are common chemical sunscreen ingredients that have raised concerns around hormone disruption and environmental impact.
Higher SPF isn’t always better
SPF 50 doesn’t mean double the protection of SPF 30. What matters most is using enough, applying it correctly, and reapplying often, especially if you’re sweating or swimming.

EWG’s Guide to Sunscreens rates thousands of products for safety and effectiveness. It’s a helpful starting point if you want to choose products that align with your body and your values.

Wellness belongs to everyone
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. And it was never meant to be.
This June, I want to be clear about something:
Holistic wellness is for every body. Every identity. Every lived experience.
The path to feeling grounded, clear, and supported looks different for each of us, and that's not a problem to solve.
It's the whole point.
If you've ever felt like wellness spaces weren't made for you. Too rigid, too prescriptive, or too centered on a single idea of what "healthy" looks like... I want you to know: you belong here.
This practice is built on meeting people exactly where they are, with care, without judgment.
To the LGBTQ+ community this month and always I see you, I celebrate you, and I'm honored to do this work alongside you.

Unclench your jaw
Drop your shoulders
Place both feet on the floor
Take one slow breath
Name one thing you can do next
You don’t have to solve the whole day at once.
Just give your nervous system one small moment of support.
