To everyone who offered support yesterday - thank you! When I said first real red carpet, there was a sign up and a list of the orgs who'd be there - there were slates we did for photographers beforehand and so much different than anything I'd ever done! An actor always tries to prepare so that when it comes time to perform, you're only focused on performing. But Monday was wonderful prep for last night (which is how I planned it). And Her Grace was a splash!

Our film, Black Girls and Fairytales premieres tonight at 10Pm. It's a late block, but we're all excited. Micheaux Film Festival has been amazing and spectacular and - I will honestly say I think it will eventually become a pretty decent industry festival for people of color. So many beautiful black, brown, and beige people and all so incredibly talented.

Last night, a wonderfully dressed Nida Chowdry offered to take pictures on my phone. Mind you she was dressed spectacularly as well, but it was just such a spirit of comraderie. A celebration of each others work but also ... we're all there for a purpose. and to help create sustainable careers as filmmakers.

And I'm grateful for the Micheaux Film Festival for providing this platform and this space to celebrate these artists. I cannot wait to submit Q***r Dystopia to the festival for next year!

I had to grab some from my phone because I have no idea where the trade photos will end up. We'll find out.

We're at 90% of our goal, with 3 days left in our ; that's $2,262 dollars that you all have contributed to this short film written by Danielle Bryn (.bryn) , and executive produced by Sundance Fellow Ava Davis (that's me; owner and Duchess of Studio Vosges).

And, y'all's contributions have truly made the world, and made such a tangible impact on our production. Because of you - our cast and crew was fed, our crew and cast will get paid for their time put in on this short film, and our editor will also get paid.

And, you all have helped to support not only local indie filmmakers, but also support narrative impact filmmaking - filmmaking with purpose and the hopes of sparking conversations about important social issues.

We cannot wait to share this film with you all once it is ready, and until then we have 3 days left in this campaign.

Anything we raise over our goal goes directly to festival submission costs, which submission costs have an average range of $25-$75 per submission.
