This June 28, 2023 article by the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) outlines pertinent operational strategies to address Diversity and Inclusion in clinical trials including:
1) Use available data and tools to identify opportunities to enroll and retain diverse patients
2) Expand established partnerships and establish new ones
3) Engage early with sites to align expectations and identify facilitators and challenges to meeting them.

In this recent study conducted by OncoLens to baseline and improve alignment of biomarker testing to guidelines, top barriers to biomarker testing were: 1) limited quantity of tissue available - 63% of respondents 2) reimbursement concerns including “potential cost to patient,” - 53% of respondents and 3) cumbersome process due to delays and long turnaround times for authorization, ordering, and/or delivery of results - 44% of respondents.
Liquid biopsy which can overcome some of these barriers was a low 4% of testing conducted and required more provider education/engagement. What barriers to do you see to faster market uptake of liquid biopsy?
