Everybody talks about the "Customer Journey" in Digital Marketing. We know we can follow that journey and the various touchpoints from the first interest they take online to the sale. But, what do you do with that customer once you have acquired them? You don't want to forget about them. A loyal customer is worth their weight in gold so to speak. You want to be top of mind with them, so they keep spending with you and referring their friends. If you don't have a strong CRM it's worth having one. Know your VIPS and purchase history for all. Get your customers to opt into your emails so you can tell them about offers you have. But, don't over message them. Email them on their birthdays or anniversaries, and sometimes just send a "thank you for your continued business". Not every message has to be a "come buy from us" message, although there are subtle ways to do it.

A business is just walls and inventory or a service without customers. A customer is your greatest asset. They are not easy to get and easy to lose. Go over and above to make them feel welcome. Treat them and teach your employees to treat them with a smile and a thankful attitude that they chose to do business with you. Remember the old show "Cheers" and the theme song that said People "want to go where everybody knows their name"? Thanks "Cheers" for the advice. It's a good one.
