This week, we celebrated 22 years in business! Founded in 2000 as a spin-off from the Space Systems Design Lab (SSDL) at Georgia Tech, SpaceWorks initially began as a small team focusing on transportation concepts for NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration and the United States Air Force. We welcomed high school student members of Morehouse College's SMASH Academy, a free three year, intensive STEM-focused college prep program that empowers students to deepen their talents and pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math. This program aims to serve groups traditionally underrepresented in STEM. After learning more about SpaceWorks projects, including those in SpaceWorks® Flight and SpaceWorks® Orbital, they also witnessed a hybrid rocket fire demonstration.
