The Corvid Collection: 3D

Crows with stolen trinkets, needle felted with wool fiber. Each of the found objects - a glass marble, a ring, your spare house key - are protectively grasped in their beaks. They are collectors too, displaying their treasures.

Felted portraits are 4x6 & 5x7, and ready to ship.

The Corvid Collection: 3D

It’s a dark-feathered dynasty, crows in crowns, mounted on luminous gold backers. I needle felted their heads with black wool fiber and sculpted their beaks with clay.

The Corvid Collection: 2D

This series is the first time in Once Again Sam history where I explored one subject (crows & ravens) in one medium (needle felted wool fiber) but in both 2D and 3D.

The crows outside my studio are gossiping about me, I just know it. They’re watching me, I’m watching them, and now they’re immortalized in my work.

I’ll share the 3D side of the collection soon! Till then, enjoy these three beauties framed in gold, ready to ship. The ovals are 8x10, the square is 13x13. 🐦‍⬛

A few recent landscapes, scenes I keep coming back to, colors I can’t get enough of. 🖼️

Just added these to the website.

A personal favorite from my new needle felted landscape series inspired by my recent return to Brasstown, NC. I love all the beautiful barns that are waiting for you around the bend of every winding road. How long have they been there?

This piece is 7x7, framed in walnut. All pieces from the new collection are available on my website, link in bio.

Simple scenes of fields: one being worked & utilized by man, the other left to grow up wild & colorful. Both beautiful, both inspired by my recent time in Brasstown, NC.

These are framed in a scalloped wood oval, 4”x6” and ready to join your collection.

Two more Brasstown-inspired scenes from my new needle felted landscape series.

The oval piece is the view across the field at the John C Campbell Folk School, the panoramic piece was the stunning view from my Air B n B in nearby Murphy. These two views were different every morning, depending on the weather, and I loved how the clouds constantly changed the horizon.

All pieces are ready to ship! Available on my website, link in bio.

Driving through rural places is always inspiring to me. I often feel frustrated when I can’t pull over to take reference photos at every turn because there’s no shoulder or it’s private property. I have to do my best to remember the scene so I can recreate it later. I could needle felt fields, barns, and distant mountains all day long, and there were plenty of those in Brasstown, NC on my recent trip.

I don’t include livestock in my work very often but I had to try for at least one piece because Brasstown is famous for its beef!

All pieces from the new collection are available online.

Only 6 of these little beauties left!

3 in natural basswood, one ebony, one cherry, and one yellow heart. All are under 3” tall and were turned on a big lathe with tiny tools by my husband. 🏺

The colorful glass sprigs are included and were sourced from ReCraft. I love how they pair up with the wood, it’s a modern alternative to flowers! 💐

Something brand new and very very small. 🏺

Teeny turned wood vases with colorful glass sprigs. Each vase is less than 3” tall and the shapes are so pleasing, I keep changing my mind about which one is my favorite. Several different wood species, all are one-of-a-kinds made by my husband. Available at https://www.onceagainsam.com/decor/
