Employability and Career Readiness are at the heart of Georgia's Career, Technical and Agricultural Education curriculum.

Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) is tasked with preparing Georgia graduates for success in their next steps after high school; whether they choose college, beginning a career, registered apprenticeships, or military service. Our unit, lead by State Director Dr. Barbara Wall, is comprised of teams overseeing Accountability and Finance, Agriculture, Counseling and Guidance, Development and Transition, and Program Delivery.

A new pathway to a Georgia high school diploma is coming this fall.

The Work-Based Learning Diploma will allow students to combine career-focused coursework with extensive paid work-based learning experiences in high-demand fields, helping them graduate workforce-ready and prepared for success.

Georgia's work to make education data more transparent and accessible is earning national recognition. The National Governors Association spotlighted GaDOE's Reading Readiness and CTAE Advantage dashboards as examples for other states.

Through Georgia Insights, stakeholders can access interactive tools, reports, and visualizations that support informed decision-making for students and schools statewide.
