From my own experience, I would say most of my success was 90% built solo. Words of wisdom: it takes great courage to move forward when others doubt, or criticize your effort efforts. We’re not built to see consensus, if we choose to live fully in the power and GRACE that God uniquely gave us alone.

Real talk. Can anyone else relate to this?

The judgment is real and hard to block out. In all the years that I have lifted weights and at this point, it’s been decades, I have been continually met with some harsh judgment about who I am based on my choice to stay strong. Some examples: Women shouldn’t lift weights, lifting weights is masculine, caring about what you look like is arrogant, you must not be very smart, competing in a bikini and high heels is slutty, inappropriate, etc. This past show was no exception.
In some ways, I pray that I will never get used to it, the harshness of people and their judgments, when the truth of it is that we are all just trying to do our best. I just goes back to my mother‘s most famous and hard to swallow adage: If you don’t have anything positive to say, don’t say anything at all. And so I reiterate Norma Jean‘s famous words. Peace to all.🙏

Just sitting around, wondering where all the time went. Anyone feeling me on this one?

Some losses hit you harder than others. It was just like yesterday that I commented on one of Darlene’s last post where she shared that she was fighting back cancer once again just a couple months ago.
Today, I came across that she had passed away and it broke my heart. Grateful to have these pictures and the memories when the three Charlies Angels competed at Mel Chancey’s show in 2023 together. Time is so fleeting. Blessings to her beautiful soul. 🙏

Divine Mercy Sunday

Celebrated on the Sunday after Easter,
Divine Mercy Sunday reveals the depth of God’s love for the world.

Through Saint Faustina Kowalska, Jesus gave this message:

His mercy is infinite,
and offered to every soul who turns to Him with trust.

On this day, the Church invites us to:
• Receive the Sacrament of Confession
• Receive the Holy Eucharist
• Entrust ourselves completely to Jesus
• Pray for mercy for the whole world.

This is an invitation to return, to be restored, and to begin again.
