Developmental disabilities are defined as severe chronic disabilities that limit three or more critical functional abilities.
Founded in 1989, Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to empower people with disabilities and disadvantages to maximize their potential by securing economic self-sufficiency, independence and integration into society. Direct support professionals (DSPs) ensure that individuals living with disabilities have the necessary supports that enable them to live, work, and enjoy life as independently as possible, in their own communities.
DSPs work in a number of different settings, and often have opportunities to share their own passions and talents with the people they support.

Congratulations to the Spring 2017 cohort of AADD's Ambassador Program! These young adults just finished an exclusive 8-week program designed to help them build their confidence, improve their communication skills and become better self-advocates. Each Ambassador will give four speeches in the community before officially graduating from the program next year. Please like or comment below to congratulate our newest Ambassadors!
