14 years since the day of the injury and we’re still here, still life-ing, still living. 🩷

Text exhange this morning from the hospital. FaceTimed him while walking the dog and he seemed still very weak and tired, but a little less than yesterday. I am trying to convince him to get up in his chair for a little bit today, since he’s been in a bed since Saturday. It will also help his lungs to sit upright. We’ll see if he gets the energy.

Doing better today! (This was a Facetime photo I snapped and he’s gonna kill me for posting this as he’s showing off some skin 🙂🙃.) Headed to hospital to get more info on all his stuff.

This kid has been at the ER since I0:30a.
He's had an off week - a lot of discomfort, hard time sleeping, increased secretions and some other things that signaled to his that he's unwell.
We decided this morning to bring him here to rule out infection/ pnemonia - and this is where he has to come to get x-ray +
bloodwork. Urgent care would just tell him to go to the ER because of rhe complexity of his condition.
Because his vitals are stable, and he's not running a fever at the moment, he's been all day moved down the list. This place is mega busy.
He finally got an x-ray which showed an area of concern, but because it's 2D, doesn't give them enough info.
The next step is a CT. Waiting on that.
They will use that info to decide if he needs to be admitted or can manage at home.
Each doctor that has come in says, on paper he probably should be admitted. But talking to him, looking at him, he doesn't seem that
sick. Which, obviously is good. But also, we know there is a little something going on.
He finally got a room in the ER, had been in the waiting area and hall up until an hour ago. He's sleeping right now - another signal to me he's more wore out than normal. We shall see!

Hi friends! 🧡 We hope all is well for you.
Tomorrow marks our 13th Life Day. August 8, 2011. 13 years since Jimmy’s injury! Lucky #13! Is that a thing? Or is it Lucky #7? ANYWAYS.
To surprise him, (he’s temporarily blocked from this page 😆) I’ve created a virtual greeting card for his family, friends & community to sign. That’s you! Please share this link anyone you think may want to leave a message. (There’s even an option to add to a gift card I started for him.)
General life update while I’m here:
He’s been in a good, healthyish stretch lately. Knock on all the wood, please. ✊ 🪵🪑🪜 He’s enjoying the summer, and trying not to think about the cold months, when all the germs come straight for him.
Our home health nursing situation has truly been a gigantic challenge for our family lately, as we’ve had several people fall off our schedule for personal reasons, leaving gaps that we/I have to fill until the agency can come up with a solution. To say it has been hard is an understatement. We rally and push through the best we can, it’s not always pretty.
But! Tomorrow we celebrate with something chocolate/peanut butter whilst reading words of love and support from all our people. It’ll be so good.
📋 The deadline to sign the card is Thursday, August 8th at 5pm.
Thank you all so much for your consistent support, always. He, we feel it.
